I use a v1 v1 and Bluetooth with JBV1. I would never turn back or to anything else. It is the best I've found and I have owned at least 20 detectors, GPS models and others.

I ordered the V1 Gen 2 today. Thanks for this video. Will be getting the V1 Driver as soon as my detector arrives.

Hey Vortex, as a 2 year / 120, 000+ mile user of JBV1, I think you did a great video on some of the highlights and features of these apps. You could easily have gone on for another 20 minutes with all of the possibilities.
It's wild to see people here accusing you of favoritism towards Valentine. Who would have thought their perception would be so different?
Thanks for covering the info!

Excellent info. Traded-in my Valentine 1 for a Valentine 1 Gen 2 unit. Hope to have it next week. Your videos have been extremely helpful.
Already have JBV1 on my cell phone and ready to rock when the V1Gen2 arrives.

LOVE the new V1 and I really enjoy utilizing many of the benefits of JBV1. It is obvious much imagination has gone into development. Love "profiles" so I can just mute K band at home where these is no usage but with a profile setting to activate K band in SC is awesome. Of all my detectors, it is the quietest on the road among all the BSM. Thanks for your guidance!!

Love running JBV1 in Stand Alone along with Waze on my Nexus 9 in split screen and running my Uniden R7!

This is a fantastic breakdown, thanks. I've been holding out for Theia (currently have a R3) but this is really making the V1g2 tempting... My oldschool V1 is still one of my favorite detectors.

JBV1 is like a military upgrade for my V1G1!

What a game changer for V1G2 however this is beyond my scope of intelligence. Be nice to hear a review for each app to understand them.

Another option now that android head units are becoming more common would be to install and run JBV1 or any of these apps on your cars head unit. I did that, even though I also use an android phone. Installed JBV1 on an eonon head unit and have been really happy with it.

It is true that when your detector sings all the time you can become complacent and ignore legitimate radar amongst all the noise but I believe there are a couple of benefits to seeing everything that’s going on. One is that you know your RD is actually working. The other is are more aware of what’s going on in your area. It is personal preference for sure. Make your RD more quite but risk missing police radar or error on the side of safety with all the distractions.

Excellent presentation and I appreciate the review of JBV1. I hadn't heard of it, and I'm kind of a tech geek, so I'm going to load it without the V1 Gen2. If I REALLY like the app, I may have to get the radar detector to get into it more, lol!

THANKS!!!

Can you clarify the part about having a dedicated wifi hotspot / wifi tethering around the 18:00 mark? Is this only necessary for IOS users who run a separate android phone dedicated for JBV1? If I'm an android phone user running JBV1 on my main phone that has service, I don't need to tether anything, correct?

Another question... I have an older truck and I use a bluetooth radio adapter so I can stream my music from spotify directly to my truck's FM radio. Will it be possible for me to connect via bluetooth both to my radio adapter and also the V1G2? Or is there a way I can run a physical connection from my type C port directly to the V1G2 without using bluetooth? Sorry for the long questions, hope they make sense. Thank you.

I wont be leaving the V1G2 in the car when parked so I might as well be bundling an extra phone in the pack as well ... thanks so much for the breakdown and explanations !

I have V1gen2. To echo what was said. The v1 driver app will connect automatically. No need to take your phone out each time no need to keep phone open unlike v1 connection app. v1 driver app also connected with my old iphone se when the v1 connection app would not. Worth the $10 for sure.

I loaded V1 Driver on an old (6) iPhone and keep it permanently mounted in the car. It’s essentially a dedicated V1 driver device. Better use of an old phone than trashing it or trading it in.

I got a new Samsung TABA 8" (2019) version at Costco 32 gig version which also came with a 32 gig MicroSD card for $90. This price going until I think the end of Dec 2020. I use my iPhone as a Personal Hotspot which I get 3Gig's with T-Mobile, which slows down if I go past that. But that should be far more than enough for how much JBV1 uses Data wise.

I'm still learning how to use the App. I got this OHLPRO Car Tablet Mount Holder from Amazon for about $15. It works pretty good.

There can do so much going on with JBV1 that having it running on a larger screen really helps. While I think a 10" version screen is a little large, the 8" screen of the tablet I have is a perfect size. Not too big or too small. It's a little extra work to set up at the start. I have to get my Tablet connected to my iPhone, put it in its mount and then start up the app. So that can be a bit of a hassle, and maybe not worth it on a short drive. But JBV1 with your V1 I think is the most powerful setup you can have for a Radar detector.

I am sold on the V1 Driver App! I just posted a series of questions on the RD Forum. I'm hoping your upcoming video with your recommendations for setting up the V1 Driver App will address some of my confusion. I really appreciate your informative videos.
