thats basically why i started an anti-Hp campaign in my work office and its successful once i explained the reasons, now every hp printer that breaks is replaced with another brand

Inkjet printers made me eventually move to laserjet ones. I rarely ever printed in color and toner lasts far longer in my household for document printing.

HP and Canon are the reason I ended up just dropping 50 bucks on a beat-to-shit Oki dot matrix, cause aside from the occasional shorted drum motor, they're absolute tanks that haven't changed in 30 years. Oki still makes my model even though it's 20 years old and they sell replacement parts direct to you. All I ever gotta print is forms and paperwork anyway, and this thing's built so well that the UPS guy yeeted it hard enough to dent my front door and it worked as soon as I plugged it in. Also, no 3rd party drivers to install, these things been around so long it's all built into Windows.

They also ban their own ink cartridge. Had it happen since my mom said it would be perfectly fine to pay for this subscription. When she tried to use it the printer refused to ring and said the cartridge was unsupported.

I don't print enough for ink. Bought a low end laser printer a while back and am SUPER happy with it. At some point it told me it was running low on toner but the print quali was still great so I fiddled a bit with the printer settings and it's been going strong ever since

Epson has a pretty good printer you just pour bottles of ink in it. It's been 3 years and I'm still using the ink it came with.

My dad has an Epson printer and it's so good. It accepts any kind of ink cartridges. He once had to print a lot of documents and he did them at home since it was cheaper to just buy cartridges (he found some good ones online, both in price and quality).
The best part is that he got it when it was only 100-200 bucks, while now it sells for up to 800.

We had 2 hp printers, they worked for two years and a few weeks each, right after the warranty was over they basically stopped working.

Since then we had one brother printer and never had any more problems.

lol thankfully mines so old it don’t get auto updates anymore. It’s slow on the menus but has a really fast printing option. Doesn’t do double sided print BUT no subscription service needed, and I can use whatever brand I want as long as it fits into the ink slot

There was a smaller window but you used to be able to buy a printer with full ink cartridges cheaper than to refill or buy new ink cartridges. My old boss used to just buy a couple printers at a right, he went through a lot of ink printing of work orders and invoices for customers.

They’ve wised up and then only filled them 1/3 or half when selling new but would give a discount coupon to purchase ink with printer

So they are ignoring the Supreme Court ruling on ink cartridges which stated that refill kits were to be allowed and printer manufactures were not allowed to ban those. This ruling would also apply here since they are banning cartridges as a whole thus violating the ruling.
