19-year-old Walmart employee found dead in bakery oven: Halifax police

Halifax police confirmed on Tuesday a 19-year-old Walmart employee was found dead inside of a walk-in bakery oven. According to authorities, the woman — who recently moved to Canada from India — was found Saturday night and an investigation is ongoing. #Investigation #NovaScotia #Walmart

This is my biggest fear as a baker... there's a safety handle for walk-in coolers if you get locked in but not for ovens, and sometimes the door just starts closing behind you. It's a matter of balancing on one foot, pushing/pulling things out of the oven, all while holding the oven door open with the other foot. My heart goes out to her and her family.

somebody pushed her in and another question did the police check the CCTV footage. Did somebody knew about door handle from inside broken?

Turns out .. the oven has a door .. and it swings open like a fridge door.
It easily pushes open from the inside with no resistance.
Troubling .. she was found by her mother, who was working the same shift, when her daughter's phone change to "un-reachable" and was unable to find her.
My guess ... the big issue .. is probably that a fellow employee, pushed in the last rack, closed the doors and turned on the oven.
Unfortunately, the lady may have fainted during loading, while the oven was still warm, and fell out of visual sight. And a fellow employee may have looked and closed the doors and set the timer.
Meanwhile, the cooking racks may have prevented a person from reaching the door.
The authorities are probably working to explain this as an accident and not fowl play.

There is an emergency release inside

I think it was murder

She would have been screaming if she was alive or conscious when the oven turned on

Someone either killed her or knocked her out and put her in and closed the door and started the oven

There is no way she could have done this to herself

I bet it was an " honor " killing

There are cameras covering every inch of Walmart

They absolutely have video of exactly what happened

This is another reason why we need a minimum of 2 people at all times working each station
