I can imagine this guy just going out the fire escape of his job at M&S on his break, lighting a fire and cooking a stew in a mess tin

I’d be more than happy to have some of this stew! A bit of cheese, some bread, & a mug of strong tea & I’m ready to go! ☕️🫖🍞🧀

That is a great stew that you can make in about 20 to 30 minutes. I will definitely give it a try

It's really interesting watching these different channels, preparing these rations. It gives yoy a better idea of they actually ate. When I used to reenact Civil War and Great War, it gave me a chance to experience it under mostly field conditions, using some original equipment, mess kits, spoons, canteen cups, etc. I'm glad, I had the chance to do it, when I did? This really takes me back.

I love your interest in reacting what soldiers went thru. In there culinary situation. Mate. Hp only thing missing. My great-grandfather.
Was n France during World War 1 and I had the luxury of knowing him. Till I was 13. He lived to be a 103. And I remember stories and talking about cooking bully beef in veggies. And the trenches and all the horrors they went through. I really wish I'd have been older and then pick his brain more

HP Sauce eventually replaced by including Chilli Sauce in the British Army ration packs to "enhance" flavours. Hard Tack evolved into Biscuits Brown in the Rat packs.

Quick question:- Is the razor wire topped fence to keep you in, or others out?!!
