The saddest part? There are people who don’t grow out of this childish behaviour past high-school. I’m 26 and I had a friend like this who I recently cut off. You’d think a grown ass woman would handle her insecurities, but age doesn’t equal maturity 🤷‍♀️

I had friends like this in high school. Everything I did was a flaw for them to pick apart and use against me to their advantage.

I was so much happier when I finally ditched them. I was much better off being alone rather than trying and failing to constantly please them.

The friend that secretly dispises you usually keeps you around to be a punching bag, feel superior because of their own insecurities, and when you're down hard enough (in part because how they treat you) try to look like a saint for "sticking by you despite how hard it is." I've heard the story so often now it's insane how often this happens

If a friend does this, literally stare at them with zero emotion as they babble on and make themselves look worse. They’ll get embarrassed and eventually they’ll learn not to speak to you like that. I have a friend like this and she mostly stopped since she realized I respect myself exponentially more than I respect her. We’re still friends but I don’t play thay game with her anymore. We’re too damn old.
