It took me a year, but I was able to pay off all my debt of more than 10K and save about 20K for my trip. I will never be in debt again. It def took a lot of commitment and I was working 7 days a week. Simplifying my life has been one of the greatest things that could have happened to me. I start my around the world trip in just 3 months. woo hoo!!

I just talked to a Canadian here in India who told me about Work Away. A website that connects travelers with people looking for help in exchange for free room and board. He worked somewhere in Kerala, India for 2 months and it was completely free. One of his "jobs" was being massaged by massage students. That sounds pretty sweet to me!

I worked for a big local moving company for the longest time. They are apart of a bigger international agent here in north america. I was able to do brief travel trips working for one of the owner/operators who has his own tractor/trailer and drives all over america doing deliveries. Not only did i get to see/spend some time in city's outside of mine, I made money doing so, all trips done on the road. There are many different ways of making it in north america and although its harder now because of fuel cost this was mine. holiday visas can be acquired and time and committing is the most major thing

Some countries like Australia have Work & Holiday visa's where it allows you can work in Australia to support your holiday :) Always a great option for backpackers who are looking to make some money so they can travel more or anyone who wants to spend up to a year in Australia. Just another option.

Most important thing you said was to "commit" and buy the plane ticket. It's just too easy to keep putting it off, especially if there are better or worse times to go (summer sees a plane ticket price hike usually, and weather in a lot of places is bad outside spring or fall)

As far as budgeting goes...you want to take the money out of your paycheck. Just pretend the government taxed you another 8% or 10% or whatever... or if things are tight, take a big % of after required expenses income instead. Sure, maybe it'd be a little bit "cheaper" if it was still in the bank or invested somewhere- I suppose you could open up an account just for it, but you really just have to pretend that money is gone- and that x% of your income will always be gone. Otherwise you risk "Up" mentality where you can just break into that fund whenever something comes up as if it's savings or something.

On my trips, I can take extra money if I have some to buy some stuff or spruce up my trip a bit, but the basic comes straight from that set aside amount. Now that I consider it untouchable for anything else I've made enough room to go every year or so...

Hi guys, i just see a couple of videos in your channel and you are good :), also i want to ask you some questions because the next year I will travel with my wife to Europe (I'm from Mexico) and we are planning to stay on Airbnb because I think an hotel will be very expensive, I read some opinions that Airbnb is a good option. Second questions, can i travel with dollars or is better with Euros, i guess euros will be ok right?. Well I hope i can have your opinions about my questions.
