The most amazing thing is that Chrysler doesn’t recall all and come up with a new fix . Why hasn’t a class action lawsuit been filed against Chrysler

Respect that you love this and you can see it. A dealer would not clean or remove any parts that wasn't malfunctioning or not under warranty. I would have remove half of those parts. Been done in an hour ... Lol

Good Sir!
Guess I'm driving to Tampa to get this job done on my '13 JK. Since I'm want to keep my Jeep forever, the attention to detail that you pay will afford peace of mind for years to come. Thanks and subscribed!

Always replace the oil pressure sensor if it's not the "AB" suffix, I replace them anyway with OE since I'm in there

Great video thanks for sharing. I’m currently doing the exact same work on my 2015 grand Cherokee. I didn’t know you needed a deep socket 19 & 27 to take off those sensors. Really appreciate this whole video!

I have a 2016 75th Anniversary, do all my own oil changes and never over tighten the cap, so far, so good, no leaks, hopefully stays that way. My mechanic told me over tighten is 85-90% the reason for failure, the rest faulty gaskets and warping. He has the same Jeep as me, and also never a leak.

I know of many Jeeps that had this problem. Mine has it now! Keep up with your install bills for this fix in case a lawsuit happens. Oh and replace the oil sensor. These fail often. The other sensor tends to not have problems. 84, 000 miles now and problem started at 3800 miles. Dies more often each year. Coil packs and plugs while you are there bc almost time to change at 80, 000 miles.

I just replaced one on a 2016 Jeep with a 3.2 liter. The old one was gushing oil out of the two plugs screwed into the end of the housing. A design flaw to the max! I replaced it with an aluminum one from amazon for $95. It also included the oil cooler and both sensors! One more thing, it doesn't leak!!

I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler with 89, 000. Mine just failed. The dealership just changed the “o” rings and the gasket. All good!

If your doing this around 100k miles plan on doing plugs and coil packs at the same time cause you have to pull upper intake to do the drivers side anyways

I just replaced this part (for the second time) the last one only lasted a year and a half. The typical failure point on the 2012-2013 version is the plactic part that ducts coolant into the cooler from the top of the engine. its such a small part that just clips on to the bottom of the oil cooler but you have to replace the entire unit. It's made of such cheap plastic it can't handle the heat and pressure of the cooling system. The 3.6L runs hotter that a typical engine. I wish I could attatch pictures of the two that failed on me. I did use this upgrade this time around. I will let you know how it does.

Bought my 2012 new. I change my own oil and that's probably why I've never had an oil cooler failure until recently. A few months ago, was when I started noticing a faint smell of burnt oil. did a little investigating and found it's around the cooler. Just received the dorman cooler to fix the problem.

Amazon now has cheaper brands that make an aluminum housing that comes complete with cooler and oil filter. They appear to be made by the same company with different names on them. I have no idea who makes the filter so I ran mine after it was done for about 10 minutes and then changed my oil with a good oil filter. I did this in my garage at home but I used to be a Saturn tech. This oil cooler is ten times easier than the GM 3.0L motor used in the Saturn L series and the Cadilac. I do not have that cool creeper so I took the wheels off of my Jeep and sat it down on low jack stands. The main issue I had was my stinger bumper. Being short I just stood on the bumper and leaned all in. Get all the tools you need before you start!

Just had to do it on 2015 ram truck!! They definitely should have been a recall or class action suit for this Dealership mechanic told me that they get swamped with replacing the plastic ones…..

I've switched to this Dorman unit and had it also leak...within 3000 miles of replacement🤬 I found that the oil cooler itself was slightly warped...not the housing. I took a straight edge metal ruler and laid it across the bottom and found a 0.12" feeler guage fit between the rule and the cooler mating surface. Dunno if that is enough clearance to cause a leak but thats where it looked like it was leaking this last time. Out of 3 factory coolers, only 1 had a flat mating surface. I would also note....give that metal housing a good once over. I found lots of metal shavings from the machining process. Some was loose, some needed knocked off. Blow it out with compressed air. Don't let that stuff go into the engine!!

That's crazy I'm in Ohio and I ordered the metal body and it had the cooler with it and all the intake manifold gaskets for $107 and it came with new sensors
