I’ve used a lot of the dorman ones never had a problem! It may be one of the very rare cases that aftermarket is better than OEM

Mopar doesn't make the OEM. Cheapest bidder does.

I installed mine 9 months ago. So far so good.

Pro tip, go through the entire box before starting the job 😊. Thanks for including that. That’s actually quite important to note. I’ve done similar things before. Spent an hour or more trying to figure out how to modify something when the part exists.

Watching now but we'll soon see if you find the Dorman not as bad as you thought. It looks like decent quality just in the pictures. Glad they actually did include the bolts, They really should have considering they are different than the originals.

Yooo just did one of these on a 12 Chrysler 300...was dumping coolant from the bottom plastic seam. Replaced it with a Standard Motor Products unit. Crazy how book time is 2+ hrs but it's a 30 min job even in a parking lot 😁👍

The one on my 3.2 just started leaking. I noticed a lot of doorman knock offs online. Doorman has the limited lifetime warranty, though. So I'll go with doorman 🤙

i just did this without draining the coolant. left the cap on the overflow and the amount of coolant that came out was not enough to overflow into the oil ports. The way the valley is designed it will never get that high before it over flows to the next compartment and eventually out the back of the motor. it's like they knew it was going to leak so they gave it safe passage. i'm still going to change the oil though. In hindsight, i should have just sucked the overflow tank dry and that would have lowered the coolant level below the oil filter housing so no coolant should come out.

Did u look in the box JT? Most times they hide a bag of bolts (& nuts) in aftermarket shipping foam... LoL 😜👌9:50 time stamp 🕵 ha ha ha

Garage squad is known for using rock auto as a go to for hard to find auto Part's. I watch garage squad from time to time on the motor trend channel. Them guys know all about them classic cars from back in the day and I give you much props & respect for knowing about the modern cars of today. Keep up the great work brother and it's always best to empty the box completely to see if it's anything else in there it happened to me on plenty occasions when your hands working faster then the brain. At least it came with bolts that you needed to save the day

No wonder I’m just seeing this video, you barely made it yesterday lol. I changed this on my Jeep about 3 months ago. I went with the aluminum oil filter housing, Dorman brand. I had many questions at first but just went with it and so far so good!

I use the aluminum ones with mahle or oem orings, never had any issues.

Hey JT, but the mopar adapter had 7 or 8 updates (the latest update doesn't come with sensors) and they still leak! (at least the 2022s).
The dermon orange cap has a brass tag on it telling you which filter to use. So if you use it on a 2013 and older the orange cap is a warning and to read the cap.

My Problem-I noticed my antifreeze coolant level was depleting everyday where I had to add some. I looked for any leakage around the van to no avail. Finally after placing the problem on YouTube, come to find out most of the Chrysler/Dodge 3.6L Pentastar V6 engines have a failed Oil filter housing and oil cooler (Made of Plastic warped due to the heat off the engine) that is a common cause of coolant and oil leaks on Chrysler 3.6L Pentastar engines. I went ahead and broke into the engine to the valley of the engine and replaced the failed Oil filter housing and oil cooler with a Dorman Upgraded Aluminum Engine Oil Filter Housing with Oil Cooler and Filter-No leaks now. With the breakdown of the engine I replaced the spark plugs, PCV valve, Air intake filter, Mobil 1 extended mileage oil change, with new "O" rings while I was there.

I did the same thing thinking this, I was so dumb, then I found the bolts at the bottom of the box under the packaging!

If there is no name on the part, it does not have quality control but even if it had a unknown name on it, it would have some quality control on it. This is from experience.

How has the Dorman aluminum housing held up since you replaced it?

Aluminum has an atomic number = 13 and is a good heat and electrical conductor. In nature, it is hard, ductile, malleable, and lustrous with a high melting and boiling point. Hence it is considered as a metal.
