Recorded by The Shadows at EMI Studios Abbey Road on February, 25th 1964, "The Rise And Fall of Flingel Bunt" was released by Columbia on May 1st, and peaked at number 5 on the UK charts. The tune was composed jointly by all members of the Shadows lineup at that time, and marked a departure from their usual style. Flingel Bunt is an imaginary character invented by the actor Richard O'Sullivan, a friend of the band.
I am playing a Burns Hank Marvin signature guitar. I also use a TVS3 echo unit and Vox AC15HW1X amplifier, recorded into Reaper DAW via a Sennheiser e906 dynamic microphone and Focusrite Clarett 4Pre USB interface. I made the backing track from the original recording using Moises AI software to separate the individual tracks, which I then cleaned up and remixed in Reaper. Video was recorded using a Sony FDR-AX53 camcorder and edited with Apple Final Cut Pro.
