Swimming has changed my life. I struggled with depression so badly i had to stop working on two different occasions in the last two years. I joined my local pool last August and haven't looked back since. Swimming gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. I enjoy the mental challenge of it as much as the physical and being able to self teach myself freestyle and backstroke swimming has been so rewarding. Your channel has been a significant part of my journey from someone who barely learned to swim breaststroke 20 years ago as a young child to someone who can swim 4km freestyle in under 2 hours. Gratitude from the UK 🇬🇧

I was doing powerlifting and I have a job that required me to sit from 9 to 5. I developed pain in my tailbone and sacroiliac joint dysfunction that did not improve for months. I started swimming and already after 2-3 sessions I had a drastic relief. Now I want to compete in my first 3.8 km next year! ❤

I don’t have joint issues. I started swimming diligently since July 1, 2022. I go 5, 6 times a week. I overcame fear of water. It trims down my body, gives it definition. It challenges me mentally and physically. Pool time doesn’t feel like work, more like play. I am so glad to have an empty pool in my retirement park. I hope I will continue to swim into really old age.

Swimming is my bliss. However, swimmer's ear is a constant struggle. I've been on antibiotic eardrops twice. I had earplugs developed by an audiologist and it made ear pain worse. I swim 5 days a week, 45 minutes to an hour. I'm a 72 year old woman and swimming is my preferred exercise. I hike, bike and lift weights. If you have any viable solution to constant ear issues, I'd be grateful. Oh! It's only my right ear and I've been dealing with this for decades. I quit swimming when I was in my 30's because of this problem. I started swimming again two years ago. I see my otolaryngologist and audiologist next week. I enjoy your videos ❤

I had a motorbike accident when I was 16. Hit a wall. Left me with a spinal injury that was unfortunately made worse by chiropractors ( given an instability in my c3/c4 vertebrae). Having spent numerous long bouts on my back in bed over the years I finally decided to go it alone.
First pullups then swimming now still rings. I havnt had any back issues for two years am more flexible and infinity stronger.
You are right in what you say mostly but it's not the answer to humanities woes. We are lucky, there are those that are less fortunate that need healing that can't move at all.
Thank you so much for your videos, they have helped me and confirmed to me that I am doing the right things.

I started swimming two months ago and with the help of yours and others videos I am slowly learning to get better at my techniques.
My joints hurt sometimes, especially my hips and knees because either I kicked too hard not at the right angle or with the wrong muscles or I didn’t stretch.
Thanks to your video I will now incorporate some stretching in my routine.

Some great info in this video. I used to have issues with carpal tunnel syndrome from long hours working with a mouse and keyboard, and I found swimming really helped. Even after just one session in the pool, my wrist would feel much better. The constant gentle and even pressure on the wrist when swimming, with no sudden movements, really helps strengthening the muscles and ligaments, without much risk of injury.

Just started swimming today for the first the in 6 years. The last 2 years I've had 4 serious surgeries on the right foot. So I've been inactive, picked up 40 pounds and healing was slow. After swimming 400 meters with plenty of breaks in between laps, I got out and felt pretty wobbly. I forgot that feeling. I'm very tired right now, but something inside has ignited. I feel very good and mentally charged. 6 years ago I watched this channel and learned the correct breathing technique. I'm back and ready to do this.

My knees are pretty beat but I started swimming about 2 years ago. I had always been comfortable in the water but never had any swimming instruction. I started watching your youtube channel and was able to finally breathe properly doing freestyle, then got the body alignment better (still needs work) have a decent catch and am finally getting my legs involved. All of this needs a lot of work but I enjoy swimming so much! It's one of the few things I can do to get a good cardio workout. It's never boring because there's so much fine tuning to be done. Thanks so much for your excellent videos that make it possible for a 67 year old to learn something new!

Swimming can make my shoulders tight but also forces me to stretch properly in order to maintain that full range of motion. So overall, I have really nice shoulder mobility as a result of swimming

I love swimming and I suffer with bone on bone hip osteoarthritis(waiting for a surgery), but I try to swim 3-4 x week because it gives me such a pain relief and definitely puts me in a good mood:-) Just a tiny suggestion, modify your car seat or turn the head rest the other way because it pushes your spine totally in the wrong forward direction. Thank you for the video!

Hi. It has totally changed everything. I swim at least 3 times a week in swim clubs. First, my overall health has improved. My feet have become stronger and I have more control over my core and legs although my knees have become weaker but I can still jog ok. I just notice if I jog down more than 100m hight difference I get slight knee pains - hat used to happen after 350m.
My core has become strong and so my lower back pains have gone completely. I still have problems with my shoulders though. Especially when I use paddles. The problem is when I pull my arms out of the water. It's the weight of the paddles. But I'm working on strengthening the shoulder muscles out of the water.
My neck has become stronger and more stable. I don't get cramps in the neck muscles like I used to - no more headaches.
Greetings from Germany 😊 Gareth (41)
