Thanks to BF1 I learned a lot about WW1 and I ended up getting a 100% on the history of WW1 in high school 💀

The best BF1 war story - it’s the very first series of missions which takes you through action and stealth sequences. RIP FINCH 🕊️

funny how the word "tank" was initially just a cover name for the landship development program to misdirect enemy spies into thinking they were just making ordinary water tanks. In the end, tank has now become synonyms with hulking behemoths that can take punishment and deal just as much damage.

The a7v tank was such an iconic and cool looking vehicle that really wasn't as bad as its reputation gives it.

One of those German tanks is on display in the Brisbane museum probably one of the last complete specimens.

I grew up in a town called Robinvale in Australia, which is the twin town of Villers Bretonneux in France because of the ANZACs who fought in France 🤙🏼

I had always loved history but Battlefield 1 REALLY kickstarted my obsession. Around the time when it came out it inspired me to write a couple speeches on WW1 for competitive public speaking in 4-H. My first was about British tank development and my second was about the Gallipoli campaign.

8 years later and this still looks beautiful. How did bf5 & 2042 not look this good? 😭

I've had the opportunity to visit the mephisto tank in a museum in Australia.
It was an amazing feat of engineering for its time and it was on display in brisbane along with other equipment used in WW1.
Being so close to something so powerful definitely left an impression on me and really gave an insight into how terrifying it must have been to be alive during WW1.

Additionally the two tanks that were damaged were female Mark 5 which means they only had machine guns there was only one Mark 5 male tank which fired on the move multiple times missing its Target until it finally was forced to stop to take an aimed shot hitting a a7v and knocking it onto its side

Imagine being some poor German boy who’s only seen an automobile once and have maybe heard an aeroplane fly above your village a couple of times. Then in the field of combat watch a giant moving metal tractor with artillery mounted to it appear out of the fog.
