The polearm+spear combo teamwork was actually cool! It's frustrating when formations immediately fall apart into individual duels because noone has any idea of how to help each other

The confusion and chaos of the battlefield was well-known in those days, and it's sorta grim to consider the 14-16yo boys who would have taken the field under those conditions, amidst the panic and confusion and blood.

hey Robin have you ever tried Belegarth? it's *slightly* less realistic and unarmored, but much faster-paced and usually larger scale because more people can afford it
