My dad found a pc thrown out with an i7 2600, asus board not sure which one, Gskill 2x4 8GB ram and a decent aftermarket cpu cooler and a be quiet 400W bronze PSU and it is fully functionall. All it needs is 2 more stix of ram to make it 16 and something like an rx570/580 and there's a beast 1080p gaming pc!

When you see those 6 ram slots you know you're onto a winner.

Reminds me of the "I found an injured animal on the road, can we save it?" videos

I got into tech from collecting thrown away old "not working" PCs when I was age 12-15, 90% of the parts still worked. I upgraded my first PC a Pentium 3 866Mhz to a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz for free, a bios setting was preventing the PC from booting, all I had to do was clean cmos button. LUL

I like how you encourage this eco-friendly attitude. Let's use our components until they fail.

I bought one of those motherboards for 40aud as a “not working”... reset the bios and it booted first shot. It lives as my gtx960 turbo of 4gb sli 20gbram junker pc! The power supply and boot drive(120gb patriot inferno) were also on the side of the road.... the ssd had windows 7 that I upgraded to w10 free. Love the junker pc and the tower I put it in supports hot swapping . Great boards those udr3 x58 boards.

This is why I love your videos over Jay and Linus Tech and other tech shows... you make magic out of perfectly good older equipment. Good shit brother!

I just wanted to thank you for your videos. I picked up a Lenovo ThinkCentre PC for less than $50, and it came with an I5 4570 and 8gb ram. I upgraded the CPU to an I7 4790, added another 8gb ram, added to SSDs, and bought a used 1050 ti, and I love it! So thank you for your videos!!

Finding discarded desktops in the wilderness sure could be useful in some way. If the parts from the inside are no good, just get rid of them and replace them with fresh, new, up-to-date parts. Only the desktop case matters to keep, not the old parts from its inside.
