The defeat of Anakin Skywalker at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi was a pivotal moment in the galaxy, preventing Anakin from reaching his full potential and solidifying his fate as Darth Vader. Obi Wan Kenobi was almost completely outmatched by Anakin, both in raw force ability and with a light saber. However, obi wan closely adheres to the Jedi way and keeps a level head, while Anakin gives in to his arrogance and overconfidence, ultimately sealing his fate. Interestingly, Vader does not admit that it was his dark side arrogance that led to his defeat, but his inexperience. He explains that Obi Wan had been given many more chances to duel opponents during the clone wars while the Jedi had held him back, leading to his defeat on mustafar.

Obi-Wan won because he is the High ground as well as a master of the defence. It’s truly impossible to beat a master defender while fighting him uphill.

Honestly, that makes just as much sense. Had he been in more duels, he'd realize that keeping a level head is just as important.
