I strongly disagree with this generalized opinion expressed here (I'm a power user and have been using it for more than half a year on an almost daily basis). While there may be some cases where Copilot works better (I cannot confirm the better image creation nor the summarizing examples from experience) there are many cases where the comparison is easily won by Chat GPT Premium.

Some points to keep in mind:

1) You can easily alter the conversation style from Chat GPT (use custom instructions or type in the chat or use the GPTs now.)

2) Copilot fails to fulfill tasks asked and doesnt correct if pointed towards it (no it rather gets pissed and stops the conversation, cmon what kind of behaviour is that? :D)

3) GPT vision works way better than Copilot does (e.g. pasting in screenshots and using it as a help for designing flyer/software UI). Copilot refused to do the required tasks while GPT gave me spot on what i asked it to do.

Final note: A much more diverse perspective on the differences as well as similarities is required. For occasional users that are not going to be using the assistant on a daily basis and not a deep level Copilot might be sufficient (it also has a nicer pricing and easier access to the data privacy option, which is harder to get from Open AI). However if you are asking for advanced options (like mentioned with GPT Vision just to mention one out of a few examples) than the no brainer is GPT Premium.

I should mention that the Copilot app not only doesn't have a lot of the plugins that ChatGPT 4 has, it also does some very undesirable things, like blur faces before sending pictures to Bing. So if you were say trying to upload a picture of yourself, and have Dall-E create an image inspired from that picture, it would be useless because the face would be blurred when it was sent to Dall-E, so your results will look nothing like you.

You can change the tone in ChatGPT by asking it to adjust the temperature, with "4" being the default I think. There are a number of other parameters that can be adjusted, but I'm not savvy enough to remember them offhand. Copilot seems to just have optimized presets to these based on user input rather than direct specification of parameters.

I have tried to use copilot for things like translations, generating formatted html code, SEO optimized texts... it's acts really stupid compared to Chat GPT, I tried to give same requests in both, copilot does not work well at all, does not understand simple things I ask for, you can't continue "talk" with it keeping same context, every time I need to write all I need from start, it does not remember what we did... it¨s really bad and I just lost time trying to get some help from it. ChatGPT is way, way smarter and better

asking questions into chat gpt and to co-pilot is not even the same co-pilot is accurate chat gpt is a vague answer based on dated info. If you are using AI for research to understand topics chat gpt sucks and co-pilot is free and accurate it's kinda sad paid inaccuracy or free with links to research where answers are based.

Copilot has been giving me horrible answers lately. ChatGPT may have it's limitations if you're using the free version, but at least it provides higher quality feedback.
