Adding and Subtracting Polynomials

We just learned what polynomials are, but that's not going to be enough! We have to learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide them. Let's start with the easy operations, addition and subtraction!

I've just found out it's simpler to distribute the negative sign over the second expression in a subtraction first.

After that just sum them up.

i do not know if i am wrong or no, but when there is no coefficient and there is only x, the coefficient is equal to 1. so, x^4+x^4= 2x^4

professor dave one small doubt while we doing additions or subtractions we always take from the righthand side but why you have taken the lefthand side

How do you do it if you have a different number of terms on each side of the +/- sign? Like how would you stack them then?
