The first test of the 4x4 Sprinter Van, off-road

You wouldn’t expect an enormous Mercedes Sprinter van to be an effective off-road machine. Neither did Graham, until he took one round the fearsome Millbrook off-road course.

It’s frankly amazing off-road abilities made powering through a poorly throat absolutely worth it…

I think I watched this video before I bought my 2016 4x. On my way home I went through Zion NP in Utah and headed up my favorite steepy near the park. Forgot to gear it down into low and found myself up a very steep hill with no power.

Gentlemen, thank you for a very well presented video and NOT using the word "awesome." Kudos!

Can anyone comment on what size and brand tires this sprinter has?

This guy reminds me of Professor Frink off the Simpsons. Especially the laugh.

Great video ... is the van 4x4 or AWD?

That was a joke of off-road capability. The only impressive parts were the step angle considering how top heavy the van is/would be, and the mud pit with the articulation with the rear tire coming off the ground. I did think however it was cool though that the 4X4 had traction control. That is a BIG plus vs the financial cost to get front and rear locking differentials.

Don't see any chance of it tipping over in the real world...(lying on its side; "keep eet' moving, keep eet' moving!"
