Purchased one a year and a half ago. Its been running like a champ. Had never done any welding prior. Closest i had done was some brazing and soldering. Learned to tig fairly rapidly with the machine. Was able to buy the machine, a large argon bottle, a nice helmet, gloves, clamps, a table, etc... for about $1400 which is the base cost of the blue and red welders. I think hobbyists in all arenas forget about the cost of entry in a hobby, when you have nothing to start with. Sure snowboarding or skiing is relatively cheap on a yearly basis, but buying a board, boots, bindings, clothing etc... adds up in a hurry. Same with welders, if you want to dip your toe in to see if you like it or make use of it, the other options can be very cost prohibitive. Definitely i recommend it as a starter/learner machine.

I have had one of these machines for 3 months now and I must say its a fantastic welder for the money. Does everything i ask it to do and does it without any problem. Even does decent stick welds. I dont think you can beat it for the money. Thanks for your

great video, thanks for your information. I bought the ahp to learn tig, i am very happy with this machine and had to learn how to use it from videos like yours. my first project, and the reason for the purchase was to rebuild a 70 hp yam outboard. Had to learn about rockwell hardness & carbide straight fluted bits to drill out broken head bolts, then how to build up old aluminum that was exposed to saltwater, with tig. Youtube videos like yours saved the day, my outboard is back on the boat and runs like a champ.

You should’ve did a close up like this on the primeweld 225, and any other tig reviews.... I’m having a tough time choosing between this one, or the 201x or the primeweld 225x or the weldpro 200

Tig rookie here. Bought the ssc footpedle you mentioned and found a night and day difference. I thought becaue I was new to tig it wouldn't matter but was way wrong! Thanks for bringing it up. Love the welder though...

I bought one. mostly for aluminum I'm a hobby welder and tig is new to me. your review was very helpful. My opinion the paper manual that came with the AHP sucks. your review was helpful with adjusting settings. Maybe you could set up machine with trigger switch sometime. Thanks again

I purchased this machine a year ago. I’m new to tig welding but I was able to stack some dimes with this machine in a couple of weeks. I too hated the pedal. I picked up the smc pedal and a gas lens furik cup. I’m very please with the machine so far. I weld a lot of alum. It works very well for that as long as it’s not more then 1/4 inch.

I’ve had mine for a little over a year and I am by no means a professional, but after reviews like this and other people’s videos, it really does seem to be the best thing for the book until you get to about 15 or $1600 and even then it’s hard to beat. I have the SST pedal (LOVE this pedal, it’s well worth the money and should be considered part of the machine purchase) and with that and of course a stubby gas lens kit, it’s been a better machine than I am welder! Ha. Thanks for the videos dude. From the 2016 model and up I believe, they came with the upgraded flex head torch and super flex cable and mine has been excellent for any of those still on the fence about this machine. You won’t be disappointed.

I really like the AHP 200X machines we got for our Tig welding classes. Probably the best bang for the buck our there. Great video as always.

Thanks for posting. I was on the fence between this and the lotos tig200 but I believe the 3 yr warranty tips me toward the AHP.
