For anyone who wants to cut off seaths tail the easiest possible way if your mellee damage sucks: 1 get the crystal Halberd from the mimic in anor londo. 2 either buy from Domvall of Zena or farm the mushrooms in the forest for gold pine Resin. 3 when the boss fight begins make your way towards the crystal, stand Next to it . Let Seath come close, when hes past the halfway point, use the gold Resin on the Halberd and make sure your equip load is light enough so you can Run as quickly as possible .when he is close enough he Will stare and pause for a moment trying to feel the vibrations in the Room. When hes charging up his attack, sprint around his left side and make your way to the Middle tail, let your stamina regen to around 80% now two hand the Halberd and R1 at the tip of his tail . Should take around 4-5 pokes . Congratulations you have the Moonlight Greatsword . Now laugh your ass off as you kill him with small puncture wounds to his tentacles and realize youre bullying a deformed blind dragon to death, he deserves it though . Every Little stab of it

The fucking problem I have against him is not the difficulty at all, its the fucking camera.

This helped me tremendously until I got to the part where the thing literally spikes the entire boss area with crystals and you can't avoid it, and he keeps doing it over and over again so even if you're blocking it knocks you down and continues to do damage as you pathetically try to drink another healing potion before helplessly dying.

Start fight by running straight to crystal in the back (the thin glowing thingy) and smashing it. Then pick either right side or left side of seath, and keep chasing the tip of that side tentacle. He will be occupied with turning around to face you most of the time and probably won't cast any devastating spells. But if you stay directly under the tentacle he might slap them on the ground, so be prepared to block or dodge that. Other than that, just chase, hack, chase, hack, rinse and repeat, and that's it.

The RNG gods were on your side it seems. This fight never goes down like this for me. He just spams tail pounds and swipes every time I get behind him. This boss sucks if your going for tail.

Longest boss fight I ever faced in Dark Souls 1. Never had I felt so focused throughout my first playthrough.

A few things to also keep in mind Seath is blind so use the slumbering dragoncrest ring. He also curses which could be a real bitch if you dont have alot of purging stones so also wear the cursebite ring. I was having a hell of a time with this fight trying to cut off his tail. all he did was spam his tail slam whenever i got behind him until i put on those rings and got it in my first try. Of course i need 28 int to use the crappy sword so it was a waste of time anyway.

My biggest problem is that he’s so big I can’t even try to read him. Nearly tanked it out once but the stats weren’t quite there.

One of the quickest ways to get the tail cut (from my recollection doing a few years ago) is using a pyromancy like Great Combustion. My pyro flame was ascended +5 I think (at the very least it was highly upgraded) which also helped.

Curse ring is a must. Equip a fast weapon and just circle him continuously hacking away. Mind the middle tail though as he uses tail attacks more when you aim for it. Hardest part for me was cutting off his damn tail.

Soooo why didn't those purple crystals affect you? They cursed me twice. And it literally filled the whole arena so I couldn't escape them

I wanted to cut the tail, so after breaking the primordial crystal, I lured him a little bit towards me and trigger the side crystal laser attack: the animation gave me enough time to reach the tail for a 2 handed attack. Again, I let him face me and trigger the side laser attack, circle back, 2 attacks, rince and repeat. Minde your position in the arena. Lure him at the center and if he tail smash the place, roll away or rise your guard if you can tank the damage. If he does the crystal supernova, go to the tail and smash the hell out of it.. Very methodical boss.

Thanks for the video, i died like 5 times before this. was lucky enough to cut the tail off and get the sword. Cursebite ring saved the curse issue, and like the video says, keep tot he right side of Seeth, two handed claymore done wicked damaged and took him down pretty quick.

A tip for anyone meeting him in that room for the first time. Use Ring of Sacrifice or whatever it’s called. You die but won’t lose your humanity or souls.
