I actually find the micro to be the most comfortable

can confirm, even to this day the handhelds in that form factor, mainly the gba, psp, vita, and emulator consoles like the retroid 3+, just feel better to hold.

While handhelds with more boxy designs and very thin profiles like the gb color, gba sp and even the switch feels like i have to cramp my hands in order to hold onto them or at the very least need to hold them with just a couple of fingers which can feel taxing after a while, especially with the switch.

I never thought that the GBA SP was uncomfortable to hold, but I will agree that the GBA was more ergonomically designed. I owned an SP and loved it, but if the GBA had a backlit screen I would have owned it back in the day.

It's worth pointing out that the original Game Boy Advance SP did *not* have a backlight. The backlight was only introduced in the AGS-101, late in the life cycle of the GBA and was only available in some regions.

It's more accurate to say that the GBA SP had a frontlit display, since that's what most models were shipped with.

I agree with the SP. Bought one back in the day, used it once because after about 20 minutes my hands were screaming.

GBA is my favorite gameboy as well. GBC is my 2nd favorite, 3rd is Gameboy light.

But when I was a kid with tiny hands, those were all perfectly comfy to hold!! And now I’m an adult with small hands.. and they’re still pretty comfy. 😂 my dmg gameboy is actually a bit harder to control because of the heft to it, but it’s honestly my number one favorite!

I remember my old Game Boy Micro. It is my favorite from the entire game boy lineup besides the pocket. It probably explains why I prefer smaller systems like the original 3ds compared to the XL as they were more practical when talking it places. I will someday buy a micro again.

What I like about the Game Boy Color is that you can play it one-handed if you want. The size and the shape together make it perfect for that.
