Z FLIP 5 MAJOR PROBLEMS LONG TERM REVIEW!

Today I discuss the 5 MAJOR issues and PROBLEMS I am having with the Z FLIP 5! Don't get me wrong - it's an AMAZING phone BUT there are SOO many different things that are lacking OR altogether NOT working and broken?!?! What do you think? Do you have the same issues as me OR maybe different problems I didn't mention?

With all the NEW features the Z FLIP 5 brings to the table, there HAD to be a TON of corners cut especially to fit everything into the slim form factor to keep things portable. Although these "compromises" were OKAY on the Z FLIP 3 - 2 generations later and things are starting to feel SUPER laggy - especially when compared to the HEAVYWEIGHTS IN ALMOST THE SAME PRICE RANGE (s23 Ultra, and the iPhone 14/15) - so maybe its become harder to tolerate the shortcomings?

After using a 2006 Samsung flip phone with no camera I finally decided to upgrade this fall after I received a notice that 3G was going away next year and the family had nagged me about upgrading for years. Never have liked the large modern smart phones, saw this one in the store and no other would do. Of course my brain is a bit fried what with ALL THE STUFF it has and does. I could delete over half the apps and never miss them. But then, I'm 72 and it's a different world today.

After watching all the negative videos and reading these comments I'll be getting the Z-Flip 5

With the tap feature I never had an issue with how it scans (I even have a really thick casing on it), if anything it was more convenient cause I didn't have to open my phone and was able to access it from the front screen. Holding it was so much easier than it being open and there were a lot of times where it was scannable from a distance so it really didn't need to be entirely flat. And with the scratches, just get a case bro lol. I agree with the keypad tho, it literally covers the entire message screen so I don't even know what I'm typing when replying to something.

If you enable wallet from cover you can use it without opening the flip 5. You just need to hold the lower end of the phone to the card machine if open or the back if closed

The only flaw to the Z flip 5 is the battery life. Other than that, it's an awesome phone.

How do you guys buy a brand new phone and not put a case on the first days is my big question. Got a case for my flip5 asap, the anxiety would never let me stay without it.

Got to agree with you on all five of your criticisms of this device. I've had my Galaxy z flip 5 now for one month, and already can see exactly what you're saying. The most disappointing being the camera. Even with a supplemental app on Google, doesn't really take care of the problem.

I tap to pay with my flip5 closed 😂 same issue. The nfc is in the bottom half 😅. Great review. I think zflip 5 is incredible. My favorite phone of the year. My main is iPhone 14PM I'm so happy with flip5 I didn't even wanna upgrade my iPhone.. I'm too busy playing with flip5

Switched from s23u to flip 5, yeah i miss the periscope and except the battery thing, this phone is fun and amazing

I was debating between S23 and Z Flip 5. The former has better battery life, and the latter has gotten some reports of thermal throttling when pushed (multitasking with 2 windows and other stuff running). They cost roughly the same on Samsung right now for base models. But I notice trade-in value of Flip 5 can be as much as $1000, whereas for the S23, it's about $800. For someone who plans to trade-in next year, this seems like a factor to consider. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything about the trade-in advantage of the Flip 5 though.

I agree with all of that. Had mine for a month now and love it. My only real concern is the main flip screen, during Canadian winter, how will it stand up to the cold. Guess we'll find out

My phone heats up, but worse, the screen was failing on the fold. It began with a line of light straight across the fold. Although I had no injury or misuse, apparently, the rubber seal at the fold was failing. Currently in a dispute with my mobile phone provider due to them pushing another color phone on me for the warranty.
