Hi everyone!

Welcome to another video.
In this one I'm showing you all the processes to fit a full overlay concealed hinge. This hinge is the most commonly used hinge.
I run through all the measurements you need and do a demo from start to finish.
It's really easy, why not give it a go!

I hope you enjoy!

This is very helpful, I wasn’t sure about the spacing on these concealed hinges however this is very simple and straight forward, thank you

Morning Ryan, another good video thanks. I am going to try using the same make hinge as what you do. I have been fitting these hinges for many years. I have a Kreg jig that does the job ok. Before that I made my own jig as you do. The problem I have is buying these hinges, some makes you buy the back plate separately to the hinge. I find it can get quite confusing, yes I know it’s me. However a refresher on the subject is always handy. Thanks again. Take care.

Hi,

I’ve got the same cutter after watching your videos…I’ve noticed you don’t twist lock your cutting guide into place. Not sure if you know that or not but it helps reduce any play.

Thanks for the vids…they really help me out!

Nice video - thank you. Why did you set the hinge at 4mm? Would this depend on the thickness of the carcass material?

Good tutorial. I need to replace a Grass brand hinge that keeps unclipping. Looking at the catalogue is so confusing with all the different measurements. It seems like there is no direct replacement, so I hope they are somewhat compatible.

Nice video Ryan, my only comment would be that 99% of the time, you’d fit a door after the cabinet is built without the luxury of having the pieces lying side by side. Would have been better to see this. How much adjustment are there in the hinges?

Hello Ryan. Well done. Do you have a link for the little red marking square you used for the 37mm line on the frame?

Hi, I just started making some bedroom cabinets, I've bought a simple jig but now I'm confused about the hinges I need as there is so much choice on length's of products.... does the same jig fit most lengths?

Hi Ryan, could you please give me some advice. Your vids have helped me build my first large wardrobe/storage unit for our 2nd bedroom, all the carcasses are built and fitted and panel doors are made. I’m now about to fit GTV overlay hinges to the doors and plan to fit the doors to the units using the method you used on a previous video where you offer up the doors then screw on the mounting plate.
My question is - You said you centre the 2 adjustment screws, is this still the case when using the 6mm packer between the door edge and carcass side? Sorry this is a bit long winded but as it’s my first attempt I want to get fit right, thanks again!

another great video - just a side note, there is a difference between an awl and bradawl, in the tip, i have both - the bradawl should have a chisel type flattened end. I used to always have bradawl, only recently got my self a couple of awls

how are you getting the 37mm #, from edge, for the placement of the baseplates?

Hi ryan, say for example you make a 600mm by 600mm mdf cabinet would you just take off 3mm from each side of the door or is there a specific size your door has to be smaller than the unit.?
