No one should have to be put up with being disrespected for "success." We need to change the way the industry works. I'm completely in Chappell's corner in regards to calling out disrespectful people, whether it's the "norm" or not.

I understand the perspective that she should "do her job and say thank you". But if I was doing my job and someone told me to "shut the f up" or told my coworker to "shut the f up" I would not smile and say thank you. It is a two-way street, Chappel showing up draws attention to the event, so the least those who will benefit from her attendance can do is show her respect.

From the audio I heard, the photographer says that Roan's publicist told him to "shut the F--- up" and that is who he was talking to when he said "I'm not going to shut F--- up, she missed her spot." So Chappell is possibly defending her publicist, not herself. The guy is apparently known for being rude.

I agree with the woman on the panel… if she didn’t want to be yelled at or photographed, why’d she walk the carpet and attend the VMAs? She won’t last long with her attitude.
