I wish I would’ve known about this one thing as a first-time cruiser.

Cruise cabins have metal walls and ceilings so you can use magnetic hooks to keep your cruise packing list items neat and organized, even with limited storage. Keep your hats, bags, and even wet swimsuits off the cruise cabin floor!

Don’t bring too much stuff. That’s probably the best tip. Find a cruise packing list and stick to it.

So the thing is I’ve been on 7 cruises. But I’m 21 now and just booked my first cruise without my mom! Now I’m freaking out and realizing just how much she did for us and how little work I had to do😭 she has been helping me through the whole process tho, I just want to be prepared cuz this is my first BIG vacation without my family

For first time cruisers - bring FOOD - snacks/drinks - they charge a fortune for these! Also bring a mug with a lid to get your coffee in the morning so you can have it warm and carry it around with you! Also, bring noise cancelling headphones and a sound machine! Thank me later!

If you’ve never been boating or on a cruise, the very first thing I would suggest is to plan ahead if you tend to get motion sick easily or frequently. Ask yourself if you get car sick, woozy on or watching carnival rides and so on. Then talk to your doctor about getting the best non-drowsy seasickness medicine for you personally. (A lot of people get the patch for ease of use.) They have seasickness meds on the ship, but it’s far better to be prepared in advance. Also “sea legs” is a thing. When you get off the cruise your mind still thinks it’s feeling the waves/motion of the cruise ship.

May I offer two more tips? The first one is, get a cloth laundry bag. It will be amazing to keep your things in for every Cruz and store your dirty laundry. And if you get one of the ones with backpack handles, you can leave the Cruz with your dirty laundry on your back.

The second tip is, get a plastic shoe bag that hangs on the bathroom door to store your toiletries.

Oh, and a bonus tip, get sign to hang on the front of your door so you always know where your cabin is.

We do our own laundry on cruises and use magnetic hooks to stick it on the ceiling in front of the AC vents so it dries faster

The metal hooks is genius. I have cruised into the past but these will be helpful going forward. Proof you can always learn more. Thanks.

for interior rooms.. i always back a few dryer sheets. I put them across the vent. sometimes the room can get stuff and the dryer sheets take the stuffy smell out

I've been on about 25 cruises, you do not need 5 hats on a cruise in fact 1 hat per person is plenty. Pack half of what you think you will need. Pack a nice top for each day and a pair of neutral colored pants to wear to dinner. Since you will be wearing the pants for only 1-2 hours you can wear them multiple times Trust me no one will notice. One pair of comfortable shoes for walking that can also be worn to the pool and one pair of dressy shoes for the evening.

That’s so smart!!!! Yes I would totally do this on my second cruise!!!! I wish I brought more toiletries! I didn’t think I could bring my shavers. Something people don’t mention is bringing door decorations. Kind of like the ones u see on college dorms! So fun!

Took big hooks, small hooks & clamp hooks on my first cruise. Didn't use any. Towel clips were used every day to hold towel to deck chair in the wind.

Not everyone will have a stateroom with a balcony but I did. I found the hooks slid down the wall with the weight of a wet swimsuit. I used towel bands and clips to hang our personal towels, swimwear and coverups to dry securely. The clips and bands kept everything from blowing away if a windy conditions prevailed.

Make use of laundry service and pack half the clothes. Also, over door shoe holders used for all toiletries hung over the wardrobe door. Definitely the magnets.

I have hooks and the ones with clips. After unpacking I like to hang my scarfs, hats, bathing suits up but don't like the hooks poking into fabric. The clips are perfect.

Imagine fitting a family of 4 in this cruise cabin and them being NOT little children. I was grateful that I did not pack too much but the nice thing is that you can store your suitcases under the bed. We stored the larger ones there and the smaller roll ons in the closet. So that if we needed to take things out, it was easier to get. I am sure we could easily roll the smaller ones under the bed too since there was plenty of room.
