2017 Honda Ridgeline Toolbox Drop

Following up on the recent 2017 Honda Ridgeline “Rock Drop,” this video shows how the Ridgeline’s standard (unprotected) composite bed stands up to a 26 lb. steel toolbox dropped from the edge of the bed. Is it up to the challenge?

Great Job Honda. We have one of these in our Showroom and I have screwdrivers and other sharp tools that I use to try and scratch the bed with and obviously fail because of the design of the materials. People are clearly amazed at how durable these trucks are. Truck of the Year in my opinion.

Can you do a Ridgeline drop on the toolbox ? Just want to see how that results come out.

I like that composite bed, but it should be pointed out that it's quite a bit shallower than either a Silverado or F-150 so the toolbox doesn't fall as far. It's my #1 complaint with the Ridgeline, you can't fit much under a tonneau cover.

Now you need to use a Bobcat to drop 800lbs worth of toolboxes in the bed, like you did with those rocks

No doubt that the Ridgeline bed is something special but let's move away from all the heavy tool/rock dropping stunts!

Why not do more than just one drop to really prove it? Why not show how you've "filled it up with tools"? What tools are inside? Hollywood can do anything, and so can YouTube videos.

anyone watching this video be aware..this is honda people proving nothing..when this bed liner does break or crack it will not be cover under warranty. I advised they will not cover it under warranty. I know I have gone thru it. they will say it's negligence and not a defect.. they will give you many excuses..I'm I'm warning you. buy a real pick up not one you can load anything for fear of it cracking..thank you.
