2017 Honda Ridgeline Rock Drop

There's been a lot of interest recently in pickup truck beds and the 2017 Ridgeline has one of the most versatile in the industry. This video shows 60 rough cut landscaping stones, weighing about 14 to 16 pounds each, being dropped from a loader into the Ridgeline's standard composite bed. Is the Ridgeline bed tough? Good for you Honda! The Chevy vs Ford video makes a silly assumption that you'll be dropping bricks in your truck with no bed liner. Honda calls out the nonsense. Great demonstration of how effective a bed liner is at protecting your truck.

No offense to Honda, but they have a lot to prove when making a truck and Detroit doesn’t want them to prove it. But I think they have already, with the trunk, tailgate, Honda reliability, and other small things that make a big difference

There you go ladies and gentlemen, the solution to Ford's damaged bed, install a bedliner!!! Wow, that's amazing; who would have known?! Ford should counter the Chevy add by mentioning you can install a bedliner and that it won't be a rusty hunk of junk in 10 years since it's aluminum! They should also mention that 95% of all GM vehicles on the road over 8 years old have their ABS light on their dash! :) lol

Nice way to piggy-back on the media buzz, but I don't think Honda's main goal is to steal Ford or Chevy buyers (although there may be a very small percentage which might cross over). Their goal has always been to get first-time truck buyers that are migrating from sedans/minivans/SUVs to trucks. That's the reason the Ridgeline is so car-like. Their main competition is probably a potential Tacoma/Colorado buyer and not a Sierra or F150 buyer. Most truck buyers don't take full advantage of their truck's potential so class-leading payload/towing is not a priority for Honda or their customer base. Innovative design and versatility are more important to their potential buyers. I think a pallet of sod is the most action a Ridgeline bed might see. Seems like a nice truck but I would probably go with a 4x4 Tacoma if I was looking for a pickup.

60" box size. Composite bed was developed by Chevrolet in 2003. When they decided not to use it because of cost, Honda bought the design. duhh, put the blocks back into the loader.

In bed trunk! When was this invented? Honda! you're dropping the ball on advertising your features. That is awesome. Make a Ridgeline with a V8, 4WD, with 8 foot long composite bed, plus the in bed trunk and I just might want a honda.
