German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confronts anti-war protesters in an impassioned speech aimed at 'murderous' Putin.

Mr Scholz delivered his speech during a pro-European rally in Berlin, organised by the ruling Social Democratic Party.

A group of around 100 pro-Russian activists attended the rally; they were shouting, urging the West to stop arming Ukraine, and booed and heckled Scholz.

They called the German Chancellor a warmonger, a liar and a bandit, demanding "peace without weapons" and shouting "Go away".

Scholz was undeterred and continued his speech, offering a sharp rebuke to the pro-Russian activists.

"Putin is the true warmonger he is the one who invaded Ukraine with 200,000 troops. Putin wants to destroy and conquer Ukraine," he stressed.

He also said that the "loudmouths" at the rally would know that Putin is a warmonger if they had "even a little bit of brain" in their heads.

Chancellor Scholz stressed that there was no alternative to supporting Ukraine, including by providing it with weapons, because of the war of aggression that Russia unleashed.

"Yes, this is what we have to do if a country is being attacked – it has to, and it can defend itself," he added.

Scholz also said that Putin was responsible for the deaths of many people, including children and elderly people, and stressed that "peace and freedom are threatened because of this war of aggression".

Scholz has just gone up in my esteem by standing his ground and not letting the few in the crowd put him of from getting his message across.

I love how he addressed not only Ukranians but Russians as well as victims of this madness of a war.

That was awesome, first time I've seen a German politician yelling like that in my lifetime, it's almost as if they've been too afraid to look like Adolf for years, was good to see the conscience clear enough to do it, the second world wars been over for so long the worlds moved on

"peace without weapons" round those protesters up and send them to the frontlines to deliver hugs and love letters... see how they feel about weapons after a couple of days

Bro those people booing him need to get a life and stop betraying their own country. Because remember who took Königsberg from Germany in 1945?
