One thing new players should keep in mind is that if you have an item with multiple linked sockets, and put in multiple actives with a support, all actives that can use that support will benefit. For example, if you had an item of 3 linked sockets, had fireball in one socket, burning arrow in another, and greater multiple projectiles in the last, both fireball and burning arrow (since they are projectiles) will gain the support gem's effect.

Just started out with this game 2-3 days ago, currently at the end of act2. What I am asking myself tho is, how do I increase the quality of a skillgem? I read smth in the wiki in the skillgem descriptions about improving quality somehow also had some with better quality dropped, so I guess there should be a way?

I don't understand why I wouldn't always want to level up a gem? I understand it increases mana cost and skill requirement. But I can't think of any reason aside from it currently requiring just as much int/agi/str that you currently have. I love how in most cases the "learning curve" in poe and other games is more so just read and follow the tutorials and instructions. Although I didn't know what connected sockets did when I first started playing.

Damn... I'm level 25 and I just learned about linked gems lol. What about those sockets that are not linked, does this mean that we can add two main skills?
