Hayao Miyazaki is the mastermind behind Studio Ghibli films. His animated films became home to millions of people, due to the creative nature of his movies. The link between child imagination and creativity is told through his vast knowledge. So, what helps Miyazaki stay focused? One word: escapism! Although the animations are colorful, Miyazaki admits that he is personally quite pessimistic. What's your favourite Miyazaki film? Spirited Away is a really great one, if you want a movie suggestion!

What is your favourite Studio Ghibli movie?

Love Miyazaki... but your comment about pessimism was so true. Hayao wasn't the most supportive to his own child, Goro, when Goro was heading up his own projects. So even the master of dreams and whimsy finds it hard to support creativity in the face of failure and criticism. Nobody's perfect so do your best to be kind to others and yourself.❤

Amazing, I love Hayao Miyazaki. Not sure which is my favourite, but Princess Mononoke has always had a place close to my heart.

Miyazaki's movies give me so much hope and inspiration in life. I love all, especially Kiki's delivery service, Howl's moving castle, and Nausicaa.

I remember when I first saw Howl's Moving Castle. The story, the characters, the art-style; I was blown away by it, and I loved every second of the movie. All thanks to Hayao Miyazaki and his crew.

I Love All His Films! But My Favorite Is ‘My Neighbor Totoro’

i really admire and respect Hayao Miyazaki. i am so grateful that he blessed us with Studio Ghibli films that not only made us happy and feel like a child again, but also comforted us through this trying times. there's a lot of Studio Ghibli films that i absolutely love, but the one that resonated with me the most is Howl's Moving Castle. that movie will always be special to me, because it made me not afraid of getting older anymore. seeing how Sophie embraced his 90-year-old self and seeing the bright side of getting older really resonated with me. since then, I've been feeling excited about what the future holds for me.

I've been struggling for over 7 years to start publicly expressing my emotions and facing my fears creatively, with drawing and singing. I really hope that before this year ends, I'll finally have something finished to show. Should probably take a page from Miyazaki's book...

*You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side, but vow instead to preserve the balance that exists between the two* - one of my fave quotes by Hayao Miyazaki

Ah man! I'm so happy you made an episode about Hayao Miyazaki!!
His movies literally made my childhood and inspired me to become an artist, as well as Nintendo.
My family has nearly every movie of his, haha. I remember being so excited when my Dad would come home with a new Studio Ghibli movie.. Miyazaki's mind is true genius, and I'm so very pleased you shared this insight into his ideas on creativity and the like.

I loved all of Studio Ghibli's movies, but the ones that were closest to me in my younger years were My Neighbor Totoro, and The Cat Returns. I saw me and my sister in Mei and her older sister from My Neighbor Totoro, and the idea of being whisked away to a land of cats brought me so much awe as a child. Castle in the Sky was the same way, and Nausica of the Valley of the Wind made me want to grow up into a strong young woman as well.. Hahaha, so many good movies it's hard to choose which ones I love the most!!
They've all influenced me for the better as I grew up. :)

The first movie by Miyazaki I'd ever seen was My Neighbor Totoro, and I still love rewatching it today. It reminds me of when I was young, because I lived in the country for a long time, and watching it, I can feel the same wonder and excitement I used to feel exploring the forest and playing in the tall summer grass, or by the lake. It's really something, how all his movies have the ability to make you feel nostalgic and happy.

Miyazaki is such an inspiring person. After everything that he went through, he was still able to find beauty and magic in the world, and create these magical films. I have a lot of respect for him.

Ponyo releases feelings of joy for me, it reminds me of seeing everything from a child's perspective. It reminds me to do what I want and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Kiki's delivery service reminds me of myself in the present trying to make it in the world, I've often imagined myself flying away and leaving home to become a master of my craft and better individual. That's what led me to go hitchhiking, which taught me so many things. How's Moving Castle is a tale based on a Welsh author's novel, Laputa Castle in The Sky is also aesthetically based on the Welsh mines; I'm so happy that my country is in some way relative to these wonderful stories that have given me and many others in the world joy.

My Neighbor Totoro is by far my favorite Studio Ghibli film. It feels so close to home, and it inspires me to think of settings, characters, hardships, and nature.

Seeing reality for what it is requires one to grow up. Imagination allows one to deal with reality. The ability to see beyond what the world self-inflicts (because of greed) is a gift. All who have this gift are highly-intelligent or are Geniuses. 🌈😎🤓🌈
