Alot of women have been told that theyre supposed to stay and keep the relationship together( especially in marriage ) because of how people will percieve them. My question is: what makes a guy feel like he can let his guard down and trust you especially if he has been cheated on in his past? My guy has been cheated on by women in his past and one woman he thought he would marry. She cheated on him in their bed at his house. So he has really bad trust issues and he always thought I was going to cheat on him or hurt him. He also thought that I was just treating him with love because I wanted something from him, which is so far from the truth. I ended up leaving because after trying to show him I loved him and it was safe and communicating my needs to him, he just couldn’t open up and give his heart fully. He told me he was scared, he told me that he’s been with his issues so long that he will not change overnight, I guess he wanted me to be patient with him, But I didn’t believe he would change if I stayed. When I left, I was told that if I loved him then I wouldn’t have left him.
