Atherosclerosis is the deposition of fat and cholesterol in the arteries, basically it happens due to excessive deposition of cholesterol in the lumen of the arteries causing laminar obstruction, the process of Atherosclerosis takes years to occur and is accelerated by co existing diseases like hypertension, diabetes and also most common in people who smoke and people with obesity.
