Avdiivka falls to Russian forces: 'A symbolic and demoralising defeat for the Ukrainians'

Russian forces on Monday claimed full control of the vast Soviet-era coke plant in the ruined Ukrainian town of Avdiivka , cementing the biggest battlefield gain in nine months after one of the most intense battles of the war. The fall of Avdiivka is Russia's biggest gain since it captured the city of Bakhmut in May 2023, and comes almost two years to the day since President Vladimir Putin triggered a full-scale war by ordering the invasion of Ukraine. What's happening with this war now is Russia is literally castrating Ukraine and the west is helping Russia do it by holding Ukraine tightly with those futile military aids
If Ukraine could achieve peace with Russia in those Istanbul negotiations back in March 2022, It'd have been a solid slap on the face, humiliating indeed, but much better than losing its balls (It had opportunity to avoid the humiliation also if it could adhere to the Minsk agreements)

Excuses ... A defeat is a defeat. Avdiivka was the most fortified city by Ukraine and NATO and it's been so from 2014 when the Donbass conflict started. Avdiivka was the staging point that Ukraine used to shell the entire Donbass region. By Russia dislodging Ukraine from this massively fortified city is a big win. If it wasn't significant as the Ukrainians and the west now claim, why put up such a spirited defence of a strategically insignificant city? Ukraine and NATO defenses cannot stop the Russians.
