The cheddar cheese snack Goldfish is officially changing its name to fit a more adult audience. Pepperidge Farm wants to bring back adult snacking instead of simply focusing on their younger demographic. Will this new Goldfish name change strategy work?

So, people feel embarrassed eating goldfish crackers because it has a "childish sounding name"? It's a name of a type of fish, there's nothing "childish" about it. How insecure do you have to be to offer "permission" to eat something like goldfish crackers? It's just food. Eat whatever you like regardless of the name.

If it tastes good, it tastes good. Period, end of story.

This is more than just “for adults”. This is an actual thing that had happened due to overfishing. When the original product was nearly decimated, they changed the name of a fish that nobody wanted to eat to “Chilean Sea Bass” which made the market for it soar.
