Review: rain-x Glass Cleaner + Rain Repellent

This is a review of the rain-x Glass Cleaner + Rain Repellent, which claims to not only clean the windows, but provide a barrier in which rain will glide right off the window, and bead where it can't. This is to help provide better visibility in the rain.
Unfortunately, since I do not have a hose or a nozzle, I used a bucket of water, and splashed it onto the front windshield.
As you can see, the water glides right off where rain-x was applied, and slowly drined off where it wasn't treated. I pointed where the line between the treated and untreated sides were, for a reference point.

So, does this product work? Yes, it does. Highly recommended.

I always apply this with a slightly damp microfibre glass cloth and it works perfectly. No streaks or white fog.

For best results. Using it on a dirty window does affect the performance, usually in the longevity between sprayings.

It seemed to work okay, but after this quick round, I actually do let it haze up. It does last a little longer.

I used this last summer, and I was happy with it! The water beads after using it, for weeks. It does leave some slight streaking, but then again no window cleaner is perfect. Overall, I will buy this again, soon.

Depends on how much precipitation you get, but usually, about a couple months.

The Rain-X I use is in the small bottle(straight product?) and it works great, but from my experience it eats up black rubber weather stripping. So when applying, I keep the "straight product" off the edges about 1/2 inch.

I found that rain x only lasts a couple weeks! You have to use the wipers at low speeds and then it just wipes the rain x off. It works, but it is super annoying to reapply all the time. I tried some stuff called Water Armour and that stuff works great! It lasts for like a year and it does a lot more than just bead water (which it does extremely well). I would highly recommend it.

No, it does not help with the wipers themselves, in good condition, they do wipe the windows a lot better, and you can get away without using them in almost any rate of rainfall, except dounpours, but still, a very clear view. As for the wipers, if they are dirty, it'll still be a clearer view, just hazy. It's best to get some glass cleaner and paper towel (or better), and clean the blades. Of course, if they're old, they need replacement.

I must say, George, that I'm truly enjoying these reviews. Diversifying your channel can be beneficial, and it may ultimately qualify you for your much-deserved "partnership" with Youtube/Google. Your reviews and in-depth analysis of these products, usually perceived as being mundane by the layman, are simple-yet-informative, and entertaining to boot.

I was thinking that, but there was only one bottle, and it looked used.
I figure the combo is probably lesser, but that's also the point. If the lesser can work, then we know the dedicated formula should.

Thta only works if your using strictly Rain X. The stuff hes using is Rain X windshield cleaner with rain x water beating chemical added to is. Its a simple spray on and wipe off. Been using it for years

I really like this stuff, its cheap and easy to use. I use it a lot much simpler than treating and cleaning separate. I find it even outlasts some just treatment products.

You said it wiped cleanly. So were your wipers streaking before? Does this product eliminate streaking on wipers.

I never saw the Anti-fog stuff, but if I come across it, I must give that a try.
