Why are Ee and Ooo vowels so hard to sing and place? How can we sing them well AND work them into our own vocal style in a way that capitalizes on our strengths? The answers are right here! In this lesson, we look at using these vowels in ways that don't get in the way of hitting or holding certain notes... They actually enhance our overall sound and resonance. If you know how to approach them, they become useful tools instead of vowels to avoid!

Its absolutely magical how I just practice my normal singing and I encounter a problem, I keep practicing and once again I happen to be on youtube and find yet again that you have made a video on the exact subject I was having trouble at. You're great at what you are doing, and a true inspiration Chris. Much love!

I'd love to see you do a "how to sing like" on Marilyn Mason. He has such a unique voice and I've been trying for years to figure out what he's doing

I'am 3 minutes in and you already fixed a major problem i was having with going higher, it would have taken me months to find out what was the source of my problem, i wasn't even thinking about vowels, you're by far the best voice teacher in youtube, thank you so much and keep up the great work!

So helpful - thanks! Trying to sing Ooo vowels for a voice class I'm taking and for my own songwriting and have struggled so much. Your ideas really helped, and I was also very impressed with your control over high notes without straining.

The vowel stuff was the most helpful part for me from your 12 week course. I'm glad you hit on it again on here. Its good for me to be reminded. My ee and oos have gotten much better sense, but I still screw them up sometimes

I can't think of many big high notes on OO... Just Whitney Houston, I will always love
What are some more?

Big high notes on EE
- Freefalling - Tom Petty
- Keep on Rocking in the Free World - Neil Young
- Even Flow - Pearl Jam (kneeling, feeling, chases them awaEE)
- National anthem (land of the freeee)
- Call Me Al - Paul Simon (call meeee Al)

Man! This and Tilian Pearson's video really unlocked my voice. Finally open throat makes sense and singing without straining has become a real sensation, not just a concept thrown at you :-) thanks so much!

hi I think is easy to find place where those vowels shewed resonate if you try to sing them vibrato even you singing them always on the end add vibrato like a check

Chris, I think Steve Walsh when it comes to singers with beautiful "oo" vowel. It's right in the pocket.
