Electrostatic Cyclotron

Thanks to xofunkox for the inspiration for this apparatus, and for the name Elektronisches Zyklotron! The power supply is a 12V to 12kV flyback drawing 1.5-2 A from a lead-acid battery. The strips are aluminum tape and the ball is a table tennis ball covered with graphite-charged spar varnish. The bowl is an off-the shelf borosilicate kitchen bowl. I am looking forward to experimenting with lighter styrofoam balls to achieve higher speeds
