Porsche Ceramic Coating Longevity Test: C6 Ceramics Hydro at 8 MONTHS

After 8 months of real-world testing, I’m revisiting the C6 Ceramics Hydro professional ceramic coating applied to my new Porsche in April 2024. How well has it protected the paint? Does it still delivery the same hydrophobic properties?

We’re also looking at the performance of the C6 Ceramics Hydro Glass, a glass specific coating that was applied on the windshield. Is it still repelling water like a pro? What this update to see if these ceramic coatings are worth your investment!

Pan, seasons, greetings, happy holidays to you and your family. First, let me say your Porsche is beautiful. Let me also say I am a C6 Hydro installer and have actually installed it on our son’s vehicle. So I personally know how the coating has been holding up over the last seven months. I say this with the utmost respect and a review of a particular coating like this one does not do the coating justice to show what I consider real world results and I’ll tell you why I say this. I can say with high confidence that the vast majority of vehicle owners are not washing their vehicles as you stated you do at minimum once to two times a week. Vehicle owners are not doing that vast majority. I can say with 100% accuracy, our ceramic coating clients are not washing biweekly let alone once a month. Real world you’re lucky if people wash their vehicle once a month and more so they are waiting 2+ months to wash their vehicle. To showcase this coating or any coating review I want to see how the coating performs on a vehicle that hasn’t been washed in 3 to 4 months, daily driven and has gone 3 to 4000 miles during that timeframe. Real world results on a vehicle that sits outside 24-7. A vehicle that’s kept indoors like your Porsche and washed twice a week is not real world coating results.

Thanks for the update Pan! Got Hydro/Hydro Glass on one of my vehicles and still preforming great also. Hydro Lite/Hydro Glass on my daily driver and again performance is great. C6 Mist is a awesome drying lubricant

all I needed to see was the coating during the hand soaping stage react to the suds. I only see that happen on fresh applications of wax, pretty much stops happening after the 3rd wash with most retail waxes on garage kept cars. thats some good stuff

Hi Pan. I installed C6 Hydro ( pro grade) on our 2024 Honda CRV. It lives out side and is subjected to gravel dirt roads everyday. I can definitely say that the performance is out of this world. I’ve never seen water behaviour like this before.
Even when it’s dirty it’s still glossy.
At the 6 month mark I did a full decontamination and it is holding strong.
Definitely not for everyone but I’m super impressed.
Just received some clean products as well as detail co. Looking forward to trying them out.

Pan, What do you use if you just want to clean your glass quickly? I have a lot of rain ex plus cleaner still. Can I use that over this glass coating?

I will abrade, with a light polish, my current coating and apply the CLEAN 8 year coating. C6 Hydro seems to be an excellent product. Beading and sheating is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
