Watch several IV starts - including a painless intravenous insert on a needle phobic patient - in our sedation dentistry office in Orange, CT. Using local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and valium beforehand, we are able to get an IV established in a painless fashion on patients who are deathly afraid of needles. You then get to see her get her wisdom teeth removed while under IV sedation.

Dr. Nick Calcaterra establishes the IV, administers the IV sedation, and perform the the third molar surgery in his office in Orange, Connecticut. He is able to sedate the most needle phobic patients out there!

I was so nervous you guys. I got my tooth taken out about 4 hours ago. The sedation hit me like a train. The dentist added the medication to the IV and asked me what I was going to school for. I replied “nursing” then looked around me and the extraction was over. I was so confused. It’s mind blowing how fast it knocks you out. You don’t even know it happened. You have nothing to worry about. Seriously guys

i just found out i have to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out last week and i have been TERRIFIED. i am not an emotional person generally but i have found myself crying out of fear multiple times since my dentist appointment. tonight i had my nightly small freak-out and stumbled upon one of your videos. i have been binge watching these for awhile now and i feel so much more comfortable, thank you SO much for what you do on this channel. this helped my anxiety so much, i seriously cannot express enough how much this is helping. i am ready now for my consultation with my surgeon, and i never thought i would mentally get to this point. THANK YOU ❤️

IV Sedation is a God sent. I went yesterday to get tooth #17 extracted and it was impacted BAD! Im talking about a whole side was missing and the top was caved in. All I remember is my surgeon saying, tell mickie and minnie mouse i said hello when u get to la la land. I laughed, and woke up in the carm, with a milkshake headed home. WHAT HAPPENED?! I dont know lol, but the tooth is gone, and so is the surgeon. U will be ok. Trust me. I cried before I got my IV bc i was scared!, but when I woke up, i called them to tell them how wonderful they were.

Don’t ever ask me if I’m ready to go to a good place, because I’d think they were trying to kill me . 🤷🏾‍♀️

Whoever created the IV sedation for dentistry, if they're dead should be canonized as a saint, if they're alive should have a parade every year on their birthday! Thanks to them I'm not afraid not most dental procedures now.

I am absolutely nervous about going under iv sedation. I’ve never had any type of surgery and today is the day . I will keep you updated on how it goes . I’m not scared of the two teeth extraction or needles it’s more of being “ put under “ that’s a bit worrisome for me . 🙏🏾😅

This makes me feel like crying because I could never afford a doctor who actually understands... It's so disheartening and depressing 😟. I feel so stupid, like I KNOW ita totally irrational. I'm thankful for those who are fortunate enough to have this doctor work on their teeth ❤.

Just had this done to me yesterday morning. It was one of the trippiest things in my life. “I’m about to start feeding you margaritas.” Was the last thing I remember then “All done. Let’s take you to your friend!”

My IV sedation was the greatest thing. I wouldnt get my teeth removed unless I had it. And luckily my insurance covered it. It was the greatest rest I had in my life. I was out for what felt like 5 minutes but was really a little over an hour, but my body felt like an Angel laided me to bed and my body rested a full 24 hours.

We need more dentists like you!! Trying to get my courage up to go in. At the very least I want nitrous oxide, but hopefully I am a candidate for IV Sedation.

Just had this done a few days ago. I went from the dentist chair, to waking up in bed at home hours later. Really trippy. I remember the gas mask and needle going in, then woke up at home wondering if I had to go to my procedure. They walked me out, into the car, wife drove me home. Don’t remember anything

You start your own IV, Doc? Big ups!! I graduate from nursing school in 2 days and I enjoyed this video 👍. I learned lidocaine injection prior to the start from my peds instructor. PS: I had my 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled all at once with only local anesthetic. The injection in my palate was one of the most painful things I’ve ever felt. I almost came out of the chair. They had to hold me down.
