Now that your hands are hitting notes you previously thought impossible, let’s up your game and maximize your practice sessions with this superhot FREE Practice Cheat Sheet!

If you think your tiny hands are a hindrance and a curse, then think again!

Because I’ve got the ultimate in quick, quiet hand exercises that’ll have your fretting hand hitting notes you previously thought out of reach.

And the best part? It’s mostly silent! You can park up on the couch playing this exercise next to your spouse while you both watch Netflix, and they won’t hear a thing!

The key element to this exercise is adding a new range of motion and elasticity to your fretting hand.

But we also need to take some of your limiting self beliefs, like “my hands are too small” and “I’ll never reach those notes!” and kick them to the curb, asap.

I used to have a similar belief when I first started playing guitar. I thought my hands would only play the 4 frets I could reach at the time.

But I’m telling you, IF you put the work in, you will see massive, life altering results.

This exercise is simple, fun and guaranteed to get your hands stretching. Play this every day for a few minutes before you kick into your other songs and within a week you’ll notice the difference.

And all of a sudden, those small hands of yours are hitting frets and easily playing solos you didn’t think possible.

Enjoy!

Thank you. Just starting to try and learn at 60 and appreciate all the help I can find. Cheers...

Gosh, you can play the whole fretboard with your hand in the first position. Respect.

I do this for a minute at least 5 times a day...just another benefit of being a GMM member...learned this from Eddie a long time ago...great exercise and it works!

56 years old with Arthritis. Doc says “play that guitar “. So I’m doing it. Starting all over learning the basics. I have such a beautiful Blueridge BG-2500 Jumbo so I just hate seeing it sit there in the case. Here I go!

I was delighted to notice progress during ten minutes of practice. My fretting hand pinky progressed from the middle of the eighth space to the eighth fret itself. Thanks.

I totally agree with your suggestion about sitting position. I believe every learning guitar player should be taught to hold their guitar (electric or acoustic) in "classical" position while sitting. Not just for finger stretching but also for health reasons; that position puts less strain on your muscles and nerves in your wrist and forearm. They will appreciate that lesson many years later ;)

It does physically matter if you have a shorter than normal pinky like I do. Mine is approx 10mm shorter than most, including yours. This is about a fret less than you can reach but I'll persist and let you know. Apparantly size does matter 🙂

Thank you so much for this helpful video. I was so sad and frustrated with my little stubby fingers. You have given me hope! :)

Wow Eddie Great Lesson, at the beginning of your video my pinky stretched from 7th to 8th fret & by the time your 6 min video had finished I did what you explained & I can now stretch my pinky from the 7th to 12th fret.

I have tiny baby hands. Hoping this'll help me reach more frets. Thanks for the tip, anything that's a gradual process seems believable to me, there are no shortcuts any guitar guru can give me so I trust someone who tells me it's all in the practice I do.

All I did was move my thumb down a lil more and I was able to play the chord I was struggling with, with ease thank you😩

I can’t thank you enough for this. (Though I’m a drummer and want to learn guitar) I was having trouble moving my fingers across the frets and putting more than 2 fingers on the same fret (though that’s another problem for another day)

I cant even get beyond 3 frets LOL, i got small hands (short fingers), carpal tunnel, i have hypermobility in my fingers, ANDDDD I'm a beginner too, the worst combo to have but, this helped me out a lot! My pinky kinda hurts but I got past the fourth fret and super close to the fifth fret before my finger hurt too much to continue. Thank you so much for making this video!

ive been playing the guitar for a few years, thought i was getting pretty good until i tried playing some 12 bar blues and i couldn't stretch my fingers to reach the finger on add on notes... so this helped thanks

Very helpful. Thanks. Sometimes just an extra eighth or sixteenth is all one needs to achieve an inaccessible chord.

Thanks. I had hand surgery about 20 years ago and my stretch is limited. Cannot reach 4 frets. But you video is an encouragement. I play classical.
