When I run the "LauncherGTAIV" it gives me an error message from the rockstar games launcher saying "Steam failed to initialize. Please verify that the Steam Client it is running and try again" in which my steam is open.... any help?

Maybe I can help some of you. LCPDFR didn't work for me either and kept crashing. After many days, I found the following solutions. The game works for me now without issues or errors. Try the following:

Download the GTA IV Downgrader.

Make sure your antivirus software is TURNED OFF and stays off. Use the downgrader as described (1.0.7.0.).

Did you purchase GTA IV via Steam? It helps if you move your GTA IV folder out of the Steam folder (for example, to the "Documents" folder).

The mod is faulty and doesn't work for me, even with the "GTA IV: Complete Edition Compatibility Patch" add-on.

The mod:

"3. LCPD First Response 1.1 Manual Install.rar"

works for me WITHOUT any issues and with the correct commands. Use this file to install LCPDFR. After moving everything into your GTA IV folder, make sure to delete the file

"dsound.dll"

(if you're using single-player mode).

Now everything should work fine. Thank me later!
