Does anyone know who the person narrating this channel is? The distinguished southern drawl is a comfort to this fellow southern woman… But more importantly, this guy clearly has a great deal of knowledge about the subject of astronomy and astrophysics, at least in my opinion as he easily pronounces the technical terms correctly and accurately explains the complex science and mathematics in a way that anyone would understand without having a degree.
This channel is quickly becoming my absolute favorite for anything related to astronomy and cosmology.
Whoever is responsible for this channel is doing a fantastic job and I look forward to many more incredible videos to watch in the future!

Fun fact: the more water in the atmosphere, the higher the heat retention of it so the hotter the planet gets overall. That's why when gray went up to 60F we crossed a threshold where there is suddenly more water in the atmosphere and all at once the planet starts getting H O T and gas pressure increases due to water vapor

The idea of life on other planets, solar systems, galaxies hasn't really tripped my trigger. I assume that there is other life all over the universe. It's the thought of other sentient beings. Concious life is what we want to know.

There is one spot on the south pole the size of Delaware that is the perfect temperature like Hawaii and 1 alien lives there. He is a cool alien but don't wanna be bothered. We bring him fresh beer once ever 30 years and he tells us stuff about the future in exchange. His name is Herman.

Actually in Latin, Mercurius is pronounced 'Mer-coo-ree-us' and not 'Mer-cure-ee-us' so the way he pronounces it, though unconventional, is acceptable.

This shows 3 things water/ice is very common in space, planet need iron/metal to have a core, three generate a magnetic field that can hold a atmosphere. Important for looking for life.Thank you for really interesting podcast

Mercury's Caloris Basin has relatives on our moon and Callisto. The Mare Orientale is our moon's analog to Mercury's Caloris Basin while on Jupiter's moon Callisto, there is an analog simply called Valhalla

Great vid, although not a great deal in terms of relevance but just edit 960 MI to 1536 KM instead of the 1150 KM.

Mercury is composed of the following materials:

Composition
Mercury is made up of about 70% metallic material and 30% silicate material. The planet's core is mostly metallic and accounts for about 70% of its radius.

Surface
The surface of Mercury is rich in sulfur, sodium, potassium, chlorine, and thorium, and low in iron. The surface has a high ratio of magnesium to silicon, and low ratios of aluminum and calcium to silicon.

Atmosphere
Mercury's atmosphere is very thin and made up of helium, hydrogen, oxygen, and sodium.

Magnetic field
Mercury's magnetic field is about 1% as strong as Earth's, but it's very active. The magnetic field in the solar wind can create powerful magnetic tornadoes that channel plasma down to the planet's surface.

Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system, but it's more massive than the largest natural satellites, Ganymede and Titan. It's a rocky planet, like Mars, Earth, and Venus, and formed in the inner solar system.

Sounds great, but what if Mercury IS only core of gas of ice Giant? Which orbited much much closer around the Sun?

It will be super funny, if we finally discover life at some least expected places like Uranus or Venus, but not on Mars and Europe!

All the planets and all the moons show creative power and variety, which reveals a little of the wonders of God’s creation.
