Scientists Are Hiding Something Strange Underground. Why?

Who would ever go to look for life in hot magma hidden deep under the ground? Scientists hadn’t even thought about that until twenty oh nine when they tried to extend the borehole below one of the power stations in Iceland. They intended to convert the magma's heat into energy. This project failed, but it was thanks to it that at a depth of two kilometers below the ground, researchers found something interesting… In this video, you'll get answers to the following questions: why can Earth's magnetic field change? Can we catch subterranean monsters with the help of blue cheese? Why do scientists conceal their findings? And most importantly, how deep under our planet’s surface can life exist?

The relationship between fungi and bacteria is so important and fascinating!
The science of the future that’ll hold keys for cleaning up man-made toxic waste 🙂

It's funny how we always determine finding forms of life based on what we humans need to live. For example we need oxygen, water and food to live. Scientist believe that if there is none of above present in environment, there is no possible for any form of life to thrive . What if...there is some sort of organism that needs co2 or ammonium to breath, doesn't need water and feeds on soil? In this circumstances it can live wherever in the universe. It's the same situations with looking for extraterrestrial forms of life. Scientists looking for planets with oxygen and liquid water overlooking thousands of other planets. I think we all should start thinking out of the box because, pretty sure there are things out there that would break widely accepted rules and theories.

This tells me that planets like Venus and Mercury could potentially harbor life that can survive in those inhospitable conditions.

So why are scientists hiding something strange underground again?

Scientists be like "there's no way anything could live down there"
Bacteria- "hold my beer"

I think now is safe to say that life could exist deep inside large meteorites or asteroids orbiting in space.

In the 80's, scientist in university of California (ucla) discovered bacteria that feeds on crude. But there was a lack of knowledge of applying it to surface crude pollution."after eating up the surface crude spill, what would it feed on next".

Well, I just started the video but life can exist anywhere. The theory of planet earth was that cells drifted through spaces and could survive what was once earth’s magma layers and surface. They eventually evolved and cooled the lands though, mind you this took billions of years but it leaves room to understand that there can be a wide variety of cells that can survive the earth’s current cores and such.

My mother always said, "Just because you can, doesnt mean you should." With that I feel like we should leave some of this stuff alone.

I feel like we have to move away from the "life needs oxygen and water to survive" mentality, that way we may start finding more life on our cosmic neighbours

IMPORTANT QUESTION: At min 7:08 you say there's a certain bacteria at 5km underground that produces our magnetic field as a result of feeding off certain materials,
Could that mean that on those planets in the universe that have a magnetic field there's living bacteria that produces it?

You see how that might be a huge discovery...

Honestly, my mind is completely blown. What if we can eventually find a way to manipulate some of our Bacteria in the future to work in unison with the bacteria underground, possibly improving our ionosphere as well, and we live in a less Bacteria infested world?
