Best affinity explainer. No, fluff, to the point.

I appreciate you not making your videos longer than necessary and explaining things so efficiently. Learned a lot! Thanks.

Wooow! You really made it superclear! Thank you so much, I love videos like this, I think it’s important to understand why, and not just how to…

Thanks so much for your video! Superb explanation ... I am new to affinity designer 2 and this was a huge help. I like the way you zoomed in on the layers so we could see exactly what to do! I am subbing for sure right now!

I ditched Adobe Photoshop today, and everything was perfect until the clipping mask part. So, thank you for making me regain my hope in Affinity again. Haha, you’re the best!

Beautiful. So this is called a clipping mask. Thank you! Don't often hear anyone praising how much easier a procedure is in AD versus PS.

omg, I've used PS my entire life and this mind-blowing how simple it is. Thanks for this vid.

Really useful to give a closeup of controls you are using, most videos go so fast and the toolbars so tiny I cannot follow them. This is great.

Hey Brown Bear! I am really enjoying your videos! Trying to play catchup since I recently discovered your channel. Your teaching style is very informative and enjoyable, non-nonsense and absolutely great content and delivery! I Love Affinifty Designer and haven’t looked back since I dumped Adobe products after limping along with the last Adobe creative suite I purchased. I spent a fortune on Adobe products since my first Photoshop 2.0 purchase in 1991. I eventually learned Illustrator, InDesign, etc. and received a degree in 2007 in graphic design. It was a huge decision to move forward with another design suite, but I am so glad I did. Once you learn how to use graphic design programs it’s easier than people think to switch to something new if you’re willing to do the research and give it a serious go! Once I learned Affinity Photo I couldn’t wait for Affinity Designer to be released and I was not disappointed. It took a little while to get where it is now, but it is so much more fun to use and there are not any features I miss. It is Blazingly fast on both my MacBook Air M1 and my iPad Pro. I love it on the iPad because the Apple Pencil totally amazing. I’m sorry this is so long Brown Bear, but I want to challenge you to use your iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil and see what you’re missing out on! Plus, BONUS SUGGESTION, Buy the PROCREATE APP (Apple IOS only) for only $9.99 and see what you’re missing. It is a drawing program that has completely blown my mind and I’m addicted to it. I can’t even tell you how many graphic programs I’ve tried over the years of you computer usage since I bought an Apple IIe in 1983 (yes I’m old). I was a systems analyst before retiring so I have used just about every type of computer (mainframe and desktop thru the years). Creating art is just my pastime to sooth my soul in our busy world and it gives me much joy! Thank you for your contribution to those of us who appreciate the time and effort you give your subscribers, it is very much appreciated!

Ah! This is vastly similar to how Macromedia/Adobe Fireworks handles masks! You see, all you have to do is copy something (control/command + C), select the vector shape you want to paste inside of it, and the hit shift + control/command + V.

I was in the market for a successor to Fireworks and this looks vastly promising!
