D-ribose in insulinogenic. This means that it will help to drive blood glucose into the sells. In a ketogenic diet (keto-adapted) it can result in a very low glucose reading, causing shaking and extreme tiredness some time after being ingested (this has happened to me, when training during intermittent fasted state, on a full-on keto-adapted diet, when combining exogenous ketone sources with d-ribose).
Moral of the story: If you need to add d-ribose to your diet, you might already be either insulin resistant, have way too low blood glucose (carbohydrate intake) to begin with OR in a long-term deep state of nutritional ketosis. In the latter two of these three cases, supplementing with d-ribose might not be most optimal and may actually make you feel a lot more tired some time afterwards. Trust your body.

I train in the natural sunlight and then recover in it too, full body exposure. The IR light helps build dopamine and stimulate collagen production. Morning sunrise in the retina starts your SCN clock and hormone panel for the day. Circadian biology 101.

I'm 45 and started Keto with my husband at 44. It has been an awesome adventure. We have lost so much weight and feel so much better mentally and physically. We started to go to the gym immediately after starting Keto but I was super sore after a minimal workout that I could not think of going back to gym for at least 3 to 4 days. My husband watched this video along w/ others and we started to take D-Ribose capsules and are now taking the powder. Both has helped us tremendously!! I can honestly go to the gym everyday when I take D-Ribose. My muscle recovery is superb. Same with my husband's who does intense weightlifting. If I forget to take it a few times in a row, I can definitely feel it. Our powder is only 2 grams net carbs per serving. I can also do heavy chores around our house ( like shoveling gravel) and not need to take a break, polar opposite of my ability before. I know that D-Ribose has helped with my energy in addition to a Keto lifestyle. I am a strong supporter of D-Ribose and am dedicated to Keto for life!!

I have tried every supplement out there. I have worked out off and on for 30 years. I can have a week or two of good workouts then feel like crap for a month. Now in my 50’s I am still trying. I now find it takes me a week to recover from a workout. I started taking Ribose 2 weeks ago and it has been a game changer. I am working out like I did in my 20’s and my recovery time is down to a day or two. I wish I knew about this year’s ago. I have been taking the Swansons brand. I take 2 pills a day. Give it a try.

Great supplement but be aware it will LOWER your blood sugar massively and when taking with caffeine will give you the shakes and edge you quite close to hyperglycaemia. Just a friendly warning. I have used this as an intra workout for years. Works a treat

Take creatine. Solid science from all angles of fitness and health regarding the benefits of supplementing with creatine. If you are talking about "recycling ATP", creatine is naturally involved in this process.

Dr. Berg, I have a supplement with D-Ribose, potassium and ascorbic acid. My naturopath told me to take it 3 times a day. It is known to prevent and treat a lot of degenerative diseases, as the potassium goes directly into the cell and nurtures the cell with oxygen. Did I understand it right? Can you tell us more about it?

This is also recommended by Steven Sinatra for heart disease and I have some on hand. I didn't know I could take it for muscle pain also, I'm going to try it for that as I overdid it a bit in the gym yesterday, thank you Doctor Berg
