San Francisco reparations plan faces uncertainty amid city budget cuts

The future of African American reparations in San Francisco is facing an uncertain future after Mayor London Breed announced that a proposed office won't be funded due to budget cuts. Jose Martinez reports. (12/11/23)

Nobody likes budget cuts, but when the City budget is $14 billion for a population of less than a million people, you better believe it's necessary and long-overdue. I've been saying for years that San Francisco City Hall needs a mandatory independent audit of every City department and agency: you'll find the fat and the waste if you look with an unbiased eye. In my opinion, the fat needs to be cut from the SF homeless industral complex, SFPD, and the nonprofits who are not in compliance and cooking the books for more City funding. Start there, and the $800 million is restored in no time.

The question is who is getting reparations? And the next question is who is paying? If you say GOVT=tax payers. The tax payer that had nothing to do with the past, and reparations for people that had NO discrimination done to them. I’ll say with all due respect to the gentleman, when your first words are “I’m a victim” that’s the mindset people need to stay away from that mindset.
