it's truly amazing how, in a way, AoT has evolved from a shounen series to a seinen - eren is basically a shounen character in a seinen world, and in order to blend in the AoT universe, he himself evolved to a seinen identity

Their stories are tragedies, but Kaneki’s journey starts with a nightmare and ends in happiness. Eren’s journey starts with a dream and ends... They’re very similar and I loved your video on this. I wonder if their endings will be similar.

Thank you for making this comparison! Way too many people compared Eren to characters like Light Yagami and Lelouch, and those comparisons really didn't hold up. Kaneki and Eren, on the other hand, almost feel like they were cut from the same cloth.

I disagree with one part, in the beginning of aot, Eren was always against being behind the walls, and fought with adults who are ignorant and wont listen to him, he always wanted to join the scouts.

Kaneki’s journey began with a tragedy, him becoming a ghoul then an investigator, soon after becoming the one eyed king who eventually destroyed his beloved world by becoming the dragon, and at the end of his story he found his happiness by becoming the bridge which connected the two species together.
As for Eren his journey began with a dream led to a circle of vengeance and currently heading to a war that could get him killed just to give his loved ones the long happy life they deserve, hopefully he can survive until the end and live the happy life he wished for just like Kaneki ❤️

coming back after the last chapter. At least Kaneki got the chance to live with the girl he loved, while Eren didn’t even had the opportunity to say goodbye and was killed by his lover in order to save the world. What a tragic hero that Eren is

They are tragic characters that are both willing to self sacrifice themselves for the sake of the people they care about. Thats why i love them

I do love the parallels and similarities between Eren and Kaneki, both started out so innocent and unaware of the world around them and both of them would go through some crazy stuff to get where they are at today. Kaneki just barely made it out alive in the end and got his happy ending (thanks to his family and friends supporting him) while Eren "seems" to be pushing his friends away... I'm now really interested in what his ultimate fate will be!
