HINT for those using no map... the signs can use HTML code, so setting the color to white <color=white> makes them super easy to see at night!

Usually in nomap the boss runes will shift your character to the direction of the boss. So you know the direction to travel to find the boss. Of course direction is only a clue, you still need find to the boss.

One recommendation I have seen from others who have done hardcore... its to lay paths when exploring. I realize this might make that take longer, but it would help you get back when out exploring

A sun dial near your base can help you estimate how much time there is left in the day (besides basic navigation)

Perfect dodges and parry are the main thing that will increase your chances of survival. i tried hardcore and i managed to do pretty well but i couldn't defeat moder. She is really hard to kill without cheesing or without getting hit and risking death.

You can use build pieces as a compass of sorts. As an example, finding an Elder vegvisir in a tomb - you use it, it rotates the camera toward where it is, you orient a build piece in the same direction. When you exit the tomb, you can get out your hammer and that build piece is still going to be oriented the same direction.

The Vegvisir still works when the no map option is used in Hilders Quest Update. Instead of showing you the spot on the map it just points your crosshair towards the boss location.

First thing i thought about when i heard no map was making roads, we made them for fun and looks in our old playthrough but here it makes sense.

Just a pointer when you touch the stone to tell you the boss location not only does it make you face the direction of the boss portal it also puts a pig you can see the direction that was aswell

No Map tip: use a hoe to make paths from your base to everywhere you go!

To find back your home, I propose that you make roads and signs
