When I was first buying a gun I had no idea how to take apart an AR, so I asked them how to just perform basic after-range maintenance and they walked me through it and taught me how to disassemble the rifle. They even threw a cleaning kit in for me with a discount.

That man was a saint.

For those wondering: you CAN take apart a Glock that fast, if not faster. Idk how tf u took apart the magazine so fast but props man. I always need a pen or sumn to take apart magazines

A used gun is a different story, and I always ask permission to remove the slide and inspect the barrel.

You should be allowed to fully inspect the gun you are buying but make sure to ask permission or more likely the employee will disassemble it for you.

After I was handed an “unloaded” mossberg 590 at a sporting shop I’ve always checked the chamber when taking a look at firearms it’s a good edict to get into even if they check just check again cause you really don’t know and I’ve had people behind the counter not even know the caliber of a 1911 so stay safe with that

If I’m looking at a used gun and I’m familiar with it I will check it with a bore light and take some parts of to check for problem areas that gun is know to have

Also, I had a guy at out loc shop leave a pistol out and forget and he went to the back and there were people all over the place. Luckily I seen it and picked it up before he got back up front but, that thing could had been pocketed and gone for days before he realized it. Needless to say he doesn't work there anymore because something similar happened months later and the gun wasn't found. Pay attention to your surroundings at all times folks. People suck.
