DONT are ver excited to finally release the music video for DID DON’T DO from their debut EP DO. DON’T has a long lasting curiosity in 18th century mechanical theatre set design. We experimented with some of these themes in this video. It features a slightly failed attempt at making mechanical clouds which only ever seemed intent on braking down in front of Cosmo’s face. Due to various mishaps during the filming (involving the very late hour in which it was filmed and some other concerns involving the supply of electricity) the film was put on pause for the best part of a year. DON’T recently aproached the wonderful film making duo Wilm Danby and William Wyndham to see if they would be interested in helping us finish the film. Which they recently DID. We decided to set the original film within a wider context with multiple version of us as the audience. We hope you like it as much as we DO.

Theory time!

The line "we be free" suggests these people have been imprisoned on otherwise controlled. I believe that this is a colony of, well, it's honestly hard to say, being controlled and having their schedules built around this tv program like thing like in telly tubbies. The character played by Cosmo Sheldrake is the one controlling and the other host is one of the other characters who has snuck into the programming to free the others. The disappearance of Cosmo at the end signifies that they have been successfully freed.

My two year old daughter would rather listen to Cosmo Sheldrake on YouTube than watch Sesame Street during her limited screen time every day. I seriously wish there was toddler sized merch or a blanket with the fish from the Much Much How How and I album cover.
