OK! Well I've been using the NEST thermostat for YEARS and it ALREADY paid for itself in way less that 2yrears and more like the 1st year when I'm not at home. Yes, the NEST was expensive but to "pay" for itself so quickly is worth it to me. Any of these brands will SAVE you money. I do NOT have a dedicated "C" wire and the NEST works great for me and has been for many YEARS! Also, works great for my AC during the summer months as there is no need to cool your home when you are NOT there but will pre-cool the home before you get home.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most combi boilers in the UK as they're designd and installed as standard, don't have multizone, and hence all radiators heat up the same way? Therefore multiple Hive thermostats (or Nests or whatever) wouldn't work here at all, and you'd need TRVs to control individual rooms?

It's absolute crap you can't even boost the heating from it. The app is crap too have to sign in and get a security code every time I want the heating on im ripping it out
